A sign of the times no doubt, but some of the crowd figures on Saturday show how fans desert crisis-hit clubs. In the Blue Square Premier, only 345 watched Lewes v Histon. OK, neither side is well-supported by BSP standards - but seven matches in the Ryman Premier (two steps lower) attracted bigger crowds. The shouts of "Keehan out!" must have positively echoed round the Dripping Pan. In the Blue Square South, a mere 89 saw Fisher v Weston-s-Mare. That was smaller than every attendance in Ryman One South. No turnstile operator in the dug-out this time to add some novelty appeal. And in Ryman One North, a grand total of 35 people paid to watch Waltham Forest v Ware. That was a shame as the match sounds a real cracker - Forest fell behind in the 2nd minute but went on to win 5-3. I gleaned these figures from the NLP, so there's always a chance that they're inaccurate.
