Well, I've finally got around to submitting our retained list to the FA and sending out letters to the first team squad about pre-season training.
Richard Harris has not been offered a new contract and is free to find himself a new club. Richard didn't have the best of luck with injuries but did show what he can do at home to Fisher and we will certainly miss his monster long-throw. Naturally, we wish him well for the future.

No great surprise that RH is leaving. He scored a couple of great goals for us (Fisher and Yeading at home - there's probably another one I've forgotten about) but there were too many games when he struggled to make any impact. With the arrival of Gaynor and McBean he inevitably slipped down the strikers' pecking order. But I'm sure that at the right level he could do very well.

I am not surprised but would say he gave us a bit of ariel presence in the middle where we have been struggling with in recent seasons.
Good luck RH

It was great when he played, and every thrown in taken in the attacking 3rd was like a corner for us!

If only he had more than that one thing!
TBH, as has been said many times, he wasn't fit or getting a run of games so we never saw the best of him.
Good luck anyway RH

Do we have a list of retained players for public viewing. Is it everyone bar Gray and Harris?

Bob - I think the "retained list" is a bit of an old fashioned concept these days, as most players are on one year deals at our level (some with options for a further year). Virtually anyone not on an option can leave at the end of a season if they want to. Richard seems to be the only player we are definitely not offering terms to for next year (Matt was transferred whilst under option).

Cheers SV. I was Just wondering whether to have a gamble on us at 33/1. Might be an easier bet if I knew we had kept the likes of Mcbean and Tanner.

Not quite right SV.
Although the Retained List is not quite as significant as it was pre-Bosman, it is actually still a vital document that ALL clubs have to submit to the FA by June 1st.
You have to list all players that were or still are under contract and that you wish to retain as contract players. This includes players in the middle of long-term deals and players who are out of contract and may or may not accept a new deal. Don't complete this document and you don't get any transfer fees !
