Indeed. An absolute must game win if we're to get our season back on track.
Let's ALL really get behind the team tonight and do what we can to at least try to make a difference from the terraces.

Well we didn't win, but in the end were grateful for the point. This was a real backs-to-the-wall performance, particularly in the second half, but we did what we spectacularly failed to do at Dover and kept a clean sheet. Paul Nicholls made some outstanding saves, and AJ also had a storming game in defence.
Hendon have come on in leaps and bounds since August, and tonight looked one of the best sides we've met this season.
Our inability to score is still a worry. We barely had a sniff of goal all evening. We did look a bit more threatening once Billy and Westy had replaced Gav and Chukki, but the changes perhaps came a bit late to make a telling difference. Even after Hendon had a player red-carded near the end we couldn't get the breakthrough.

We're absolutely miles away from being a play-off side at the moment. The midfield is all over the shop, defence is looking fragile and we're not even creating chances, let alone look like scoring. Too many people either woefully out of form, or just not 100%.
Definitely a point gained. But had we been facing a top 5 side, or Dover again, we'd have got comfortably beaten. In fact, had it not been for PN, we probably would have.
Plusses were a lively second half debut in m/f from Danny Phillips and an outstanding first 90mins back for AJ. But that's about it.
Wealdstone & AFCH have closed up a bit more tonight. Play like that again saturday and we'll be hot on the heels of the Bobbins out of the P/O spots.

Agree with Taz on a lot of the above we created sod all and I have some sympathy for Chukki as he can't score without any service? Midfield is non existent some of the passing and dwelling on the ball is very scary at times, shows lack of options and movement. We have lost that raiding forward we saw earlier in the season, we need Matty Hann out there to provide the width as Gav is being isolated too often up there on his own being leant on by 3 burley defenders. Dundo very quiet game, Jacko was poor letting the forward in behind him time and time again, AJ is class and excellent tonight.
The positive is they fought to a man to get that point even though things were not going right so they showed some of what was missing on Saturday. I did not see what the plan was on Saturday and could not see what we were trying to do tonight either??

Agreed with the guys above. My god AJ is brilliant! Nicholls saved us from losing with some fantastic saves but still likes running out of his area needlessly, Dundo had an off day today and i hope to see him bounce back on saturday and i really feel we need to try something else upfront Chukki hasn't been scoring no matter how bad the midfield is, he was hardly ever going up challenging for the ball in the air.
The team really are running on empty, all we need is one last push to secure the playoff spot!

As you'll probably understand - we were delighted with the point tonight - and had it not been for some outstanding saves by Paul Nicholls - we could have had all three.
I thought the main place you struggled was up front, and down your left hand side - we seemed to get down and round your left back on numerous occasions during the game.
I hope your results pick up over the next few weeks and you secure a place in the play-offs.

Where did Danny Phillips come from ? Any more new players lined up for Saturday ? I think i've seen almost 50 different players in following my local "team" for 19 games.

Phillips was most recently at Weymouth apparently. And no, there are no new faces to come in, as the Ryman League deadline for new signings has now passed I believe....

I agree the midfield was all over the shop yesterday, I thought Hughesy had a very poor game, i think he is starting to feel a long season in his legs and giving him a break for a game or two would only benefit the side in the long run IMO.
If we're going to play a narrow midfield we need to work so closely as a unit and spaces are appearing all across it at the moment and it's getting easily exposed.
Jacko doesn't seem the same player after his injury, obviously not fully fit. He's no right midfielder in my book either, stick with him at right back though please Dos!
Most importantly the team are sticking together and we're keeping faith in them and getting behind them. We can still do this, there's a long way to go yet, we just need plenty of movement, creativity and belief we can get our game back on track.
