If we get the luck like that in the rest of the season, promotion is nailed on. I don't recall Sutton having a shot on target until the penalty, although we then created two more chances. Meanwhile Dartford hit the post twice and brought out a terrific double save from Nicholls early in the second half. Daylight robbery, but that'll do just fine! I disagree with that, yes they did not have much luck but they did not take their chances plus PN was doing a fine job back there along with the defence. Dos knew Dartford would need to chase the game so put the onus on them to play and get the goal and we sat a little deep like we should of last week. The decision to leave the pace on the bench was tactical and it was clear they would come on in the second half to stretch Dartford as they got more desperate. It worked a treat and Dartford have had problems in front of goal so it was a spot on gamble in my book. Talk of robbery is just wrong and misreading the game I reckon!

Not entirely sure how we didn't come away with any points today. Was disappointed that we weren't allowed drums because of noise disturbing the neighbours, which i thought was pretty ironic considering there was a train station next door. Even the bloomin' tannoy made more noise then the drums. Was dissappointed at the size of the bar but it was okay because there was a nice pub opposite the ground. Special mention to your Assistant Manager who threatened to "pulverise" (his words) one of our supporters LOL

Not the best of games, Crap officials once again, Zippo's Circus must of loaned them out to the FA today! Sutton still looking shaky and I would say Dartford deserved to sneak it and were very unlucky with the amount of chances they had. Bentley looked good in midfield and is showing a lot maturity for his age. AJ is by far the best Left back we've had in a long time and is getting better game by game and Nicholls has saved us from conceding in the past two games. Steve Watts looked useful when he came on (anyone know how match fit he is?). I'm just glad we got 3 points and got some confidence in the lads again, time to move onwards to an on-form Hastings outfit, I think we've got to be coming away from there with 3 points no matter how well they are doing at the moment and it would bring us beautifully into the Carshalton game full of confidence and another 6-0 win (not defeat!) Up the U's!

What happened between our AM and your supporter?!

Well for those of you who didn't know - Sutton 1 Dartford 0 (Watts pen 83 mins) The comments "Id happily take a crap game for a 1-0 win" rang true. Another non classic, but at least this time we were making chances. As the game wore on Sutton were getting stronger, and got stronger once Phillips and Graham made way for Dundas and McCallum (but both of the former had quite good games, Bentley having our best chance of the first half) Dartford are probably feeling a bit unlucky not to have come away with at least a point - they hit the post at least twice, and at times looked quite lively. Other results generally went well for us (with the exception of Carshalton) but our position looks a little stronger than it did on Tuesday - roll on Saturday, another couple of wins and we are there What chances ? Wasn't it you who mentioned a well taken goal by Dundas in the last home game when it hit him and went in ? Do you go to a different game or what................................. Another shite game but at least it was a lovely day.A very lucky win,Nicholls did well.Who is Watts ? He did very well when he came on.

Steve Watts was signed at the start of the season but had to undergo knee surgery i believe .He was to be our main striker this season and has played at a much higher level.

Steve Watts looked to be carrying a few surplus pounds, but he took the penalty very coolly. He might have come back from injury just at the right time, as the rest of our forwards seem to have forgotten how to find the goal. Oh, and Hayden Bird speaks very highly of him! ;D The three points were a bit of a steal, with Dartford having created half a dozen presentable openings. Still, if you don't take your chances you can't really complain.

So this tactical decision had nothing to do with 3 poor results, no goals scored and giving certain players a kick up the arse? And the pace was McCallum, Dundas and Watts?

Special mention to your Assistant Manager who threatened to "pulverise" (his words) one of our supporters LOL We don't all have brand spanking new grounds built by our councils... If you're going to mention our "Assistant Manager" as you called him, how about mentioning that your bloke was abusing him constantly during the first half? Or that he squared up to him in the bar after the game? Actually, that wasn't the only problem with some of your fans after the game, but let's gloss over that as well. As for the game, we got lucky.....the Monk was first class today and if anyone's still holding those few mistakes against him, I hope they're having second thoughts. Interesting tactics from Dos today.....I doubt they would've been expecting that starting line-up, and we've got to give him credit for picking up a very hard-earned three points.

No: I am convinced what Dos did was tactical all the time the score was 0-0 lucky or otherwise they were going to have to get more desperate and that was when we hit them, a classic sucker punch! If Dartford had scored and maybe they should of earlier in the game then the subs would of been made then and we would of gone on the offensive or tried to. I am not saying it was a perfect performance but their inability to score meant they setup the smash and grab for us, if not you would of seen a completely different game and formation from us from that point.
Give Dos some credit for excellent tactics today pls!

Oh tactics schmactics. Lets be honest here guys, we got away with bloody murder today.
As Nick said at the bar afterwards (in a brief break from signing autographs!) as he carried away his pint & taking a sip.....
"Oh the sweet taste of daylight robbery".
Whilst we competed fairly well, we created absolutely f*ck all. Nada. Zip. Nothing. Not a single fecking thing. At least not until we were 1 up and they threw everything forward,
They on the other hand, hit the post twice & created at least 2-3 reasonable chances.
To say we won today due to 'tactics' is frankly utter bollocks. And nothing else. The only credit we deserve was somehow still being in the game when their no2 (for some bizarre reason) decided to put his volleyball move on Chukki in the box. From which Watts stuck away the pen.
They didn't take their chances, we took our only real one of the game. We have 3 points, they don't. End of story.
See you at Hastings.......

Our supporter just gave him a little dig about the fact he used to play for Gravesend and Northfleet and your Ass. Man took it the wrong way. Don't know how he was "abusing" him all again, he was on the opposite of the ground? Don't know what happened in the bar, i was in there for about 15mins after the game and then i left. Tell me what problems did you encounter with our fans?

Well I have to agree, we nicked the points today, however one sided the game was, we need them - got them in the bag, and 2 more wins out of 4 should see us safely into the playoffs. Especially if those 2 wins were against carshalton and hornchurch.
To be fair although we created virtually no chances, the 10 mins prior to the penalty, their defence were starting to struggle a bit more with our forward line.
Still our second "double" of the season, and by far the biggest crowd in the league today - 727, unassisted by community tickets
