Are they "going for it" next year? They've announced the signings of Phil Ruggles and Robert Ursell so far. They've also re-signed Gary Drewett who they released last year because they couldn't afford him
Boom and bust, boom and bust.......

Just spotted that myself. Some good signings there, shame we couldn't have got a look at Ursell ourselves. he plays wide right aswell doesn't he?

From what I've heard, he's a bit Boosey-esque.
Speaking of whom, Glen Boosey has signed for Hampton

Speaking of whom, Glen Boosey has signed for Hampton Again, or was he just on loan there before? As for Ursell, didn't AFC fans call him 'wizard' or something? He looked pretty good on the couple of occasions that I saw him. Where are they getting their cash from this time then??

It'll no doubt be their usual budgeting strategy of gambling on making it to the 5th round of the FA Cup, playing Liverpool and Man Utd away from home along the way.
Dunno why they bother announcing signings like that. They'll all be released around Xmas.....

I thought Ruggles would have been a player that we might have been interested in especially with his strike rate, knows where the goal is?

Speaking of whom, Glen Boosey has signed for Hampton Again, or was he just on loan there before? My mistake - it looks like it's just a trial. But he was at H&R a couple of years ago as well hamptonfc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2555

I saw Ruggles play against Merstham in an end of season cup game,at Merstham, Molesey had 3 players sent off and almost won the game Ruggles scared the living daylights out of them, they had 3 players marking him at all times, but he still managed a terrific goal.

Tut tut Taz, you'll have to do better than that to conceal your jealousy! maybe you ought to be asking questions of your own management rather than falling back on the old SUFC hubris!

No questions needed to be asked of our management dear boy. They're not the ones spending what they ain't got!

well no denying that things have gone tits up in the past esp when our mutual friends Roberts was at the helm...things are being managed far more tightly now and the debt has been paid off so the club is on a much better financial footing than for quite a while. the other thing is that in contrast to previous incumbents the current management are making good use of our youngsters like Simon Cooper who in the past would have got frustrated in the youth team/reserves and gone off elsewhere. All this doesn't guarantee we wont get turned over by all sorts of two bob clubs next season of course.. ;D
