The Play-Offs at this standard and below, is a 1 legged affair? I kind of find it ridiculous, to be honest. 42 game season (?), so what would another 2, (Maybe 3, I hope, for your sake) games hurt? The only reason behind this can be, the advantage of coming higher, but I just done see it. Also, how many Sutton will be at Staines tonight. Thanks. ;D

I was wondering why it's not a two-legged jobbie too.
Two coaches and a load of us making our own way down. No idea of exact numbers but it'll certainly be a fair few!

Not sure either, but I'd rather play Staines in a one off game than a two legger!

Firstly, a personal view is that a 1-leg play-off is a little fairer in that it does give the higher-placed teams some reward for where they finished. No guarantees that this will be effective of course but at least it's something.
Another, maybe more practical reason is that contracts end on the first Saturday in May. A 2-leg semi would probably mean playing the final after that Saturday and so not only would clubs face another week of wages, there is a danger (albeit small) that players would not agree to play. And no, income from play-off games would probably not cover the extra wages.

Do the clubs share gate receipts for the play offs out of interest?

25% to the league and then the rest divided between the 2 clubs (all expenses deducted first, of course).

The thing is that coming second ensures a home semi against in theory the weakest qualifier and they are odds on to win tonight. The Great thing about it is we have nothing to lose against a Staines side who were 20mins away from the connie sth last season. We can just go out and play enjoy it and see what happens, it has to be remembered that when they won 3-1 we were without our first choice back four including AJ. BRING EM ON I SAY! I am bringing 6 in my car

i find the 1 leg semi odd but i can live with it - the final arrangements i just can't work out, should be somewhere more interesting i think.

Staines don't want to play us according to their web site. They want some team easier to beat!
