2-0 down at the moment. Not playing badly but the chances we've made have been shut out. Hopefully we'll be able to nab a goal in the second half!

This was my first watch of Sutton this pre-season and was impressed with what I saw in a good game overall. At this stage results dont really mean a great deal but 3-1 was harsh on us. I thought we played with more purpose in the second half - defence overall looks solid, a lot of the players looked hungry to play - liked the look of Joseph who came on in the second half. Man of the Match was Danny Phillips - utterly class in the middle. More of the same when the season gets going U's

My first look at the team tonight and first half I thought we were poor to be honest, no width and constantly playing anywhere balls out of defence which meant it was just coming straight back at us. On the couple of occasions we did get forward there were hints we could cause them problems from crosses. The introduction of Joseph and Dunn made a real difference in the second half, we got the ball down played it wide and our crossing was excellent and no surprise when Kes took advantage of one. A superb move a few mins later deserved a goal, not sure whose back flick it was, but it was the best move of the night and should of been 3-2.
Early doors yet but we improved from the 1st min to the last which is the point of a pre-season friendly.

Going down 3-1 at home to a Brentford second XI (albeit one including Nathan Elder) was not a great result, but a reminder of where we currently stand in football's pecking order. We started on the back foot, and were hardly helped by the lack of height in our midfield and attack - where I reckon Sonny Cobbs was the only player over 5 foot 8. I agree that we livened up after half-time with the introduction of Billy Dunn, Anthony Joseph and Steffan Payne. But by then we were 2-0 down. The defending for the Bees' first and third goals was pretty poor, but otherwise we looked reasonably solid. I bet Leon Legge enjoyed scoring that third!

I bet Leon Legge enjoyed scoring that third! He very nearly recreated the own goal also, would've been great! Thought that Sam Saunders may have got a run out tonight for them, never mind.

I didn't see the game as I was watching Sutton CC lose at Reigate Priory in the National 20/20 KO but Brentford were brilliant tonight guys See you all in October!

The flick was from Stefan Payne to Joseph, and it was quality.

Missed the game as I play 5-a-side on Wednesdays. You can appreciate how delighted I was when the oppo didn't turn up.

Enjoyed the game last night. I thought Sutton played very well (good passing, good movement, very purposeful, commitment) and was very encouraged by what I saw. Although we lost we were playing a more than useful side, the best team I have seen in my 2 years coming here (better than Notts C by far, Dover, Staines etc). I don't think we will come up against equally good opposition in the league. Still getting to grips with the names/faces of the new players but was very impressed by No 4 (Cobbs I think), got stuck in and could also play a fair bit. BWG looked bright up front, very pacey. Would really like to see Dunn start up front with BWG against Margate as this is going to be a pivitol season for him (Dunn), and if he starts to bang them in early on then who knows how many he will get. As mentioned in previous posts we looked pretty solid at the back, Goodliffe is not the quickest but an excellent defender nonetheless, almost Terryesque in his ability to be in the right place at the right time. All in all very pleased with Dozzies acquisitions and it looks like he's got them playing some decent stuff already. Only real down point was the low turn out. Roll on Margate!

My first look at the team today and some first impressions.Kevin Scrivven will have to play better than that if he is to be our number one.Out of position for the first goal and certainly at fault for the third by going for a cross he couldn't reach. Kes is not a right back but a good centre back.We need a specialist there.AJ was good and the centre midfield was excellent if missing a little height.Too much lumping the ball through the air in the first half and with no big centre forward rather pointless.Good injection of pace in the 2nd gave us a much better look. Can't make up my mind yet about Goodlife.Turned too easily at times but i understand he's not yet up to full fitness.Certainly at fault for one of the goals.Roll on saturday!

hello. bees fan here. i thought the only real difference between the teams yesterday was in the finishing - and we had out elder and ademola who are both part of our first team squad (moses has a lot to learn still though). in the first half one of your strikers had a chance to shoot and came back inside onto his stronger foot and we cleared the ball - in league one the ball would have been in the back of the net
one of your central midfielders looked decent enough - got involved and could run with the ball - but seemed a bit lethargic with his passing
the substitue forward "billy" was a bit strange - made some really good runs but at times looked completely disinterested. i think he's got some ability but needs to maybe work harder on his attitude/concentration levels
the lad who played right back (kes) i thought was quite good, did a better job of marking elder than the other centre halves.
jury out on bentley graham who played for us and not you - we are running a reserve team next year so think Scott is trying to populate that with some good youngsters. we released a lot of our young players last year due to bad attitude
sorry we didnt bring many fans - we'd played palace the night before and got quite a healthy attendance. this is also the reason we didn't bring many first teamers - saunders had played the night before for example.
good luck with the season, i enjoyed my visit. hopefully be back next year.

My first sutton game i watched and was very impressed. Going to the palace and spurs game now hopefully..
I really enjoyed it.. I was impressed by the way brentford played and the way sutton played.. Sutton didnt get the ball out wide..
Thought the 2 was poor at right back.. Kept hoofing the ball but was alot better as a centre half..
Hope to see the same against Palace.

Too much lumping the ball through the air in the first half and with no big centre forward rather pointless. Speaking of which, what's the situation with Steve Watts? Injured? On holiday? GONE???
