I don't know if cracking is the word I would use

We were poor today and disjointed, we had plenty of possession in the first 25mins but lack a cutting edge (same old story) and Dulwich although pinned back dealt with us pretty easily which is a bit worrying. We got caught on the break with a simple ball over the top 1 down. Dulwich looked the better unit all afternoon with some decent moves and they were having their best spell when we had the pen awarded on @43mins, obvious pen and well put away 1-1 HT and looking for better in the second half. The rain came down the surface became slippery and Billy Smarts circus arrived to provide 4 goals the like of which I last saw in the playground. 1-2 down to defender (can't remember who it was) being dispossessed 30yrds from goal allowing a one on one with KS, 2-2 ball deflects through keepers hands, must be a OG that one? 2-3 ball slips under KS body (centre of goal along the deck), 3-3 @90th Min ball appears to go right through Dulwich keepers hands or body after 'Dulwich's' Dean Palmer sliced towards his own net so another OG (maybe he thought he was still with us?).

On that evidence we have a lot of work to do in the next 2 weeks!

If that's a reference to the big blank space under the words 'match report' I swear it was there last night after I'd done it. I've loaded it again anyway.

There will be pictures. Paul's been busy today so hasn't had a chance to trawl through, select and crop from amongst the hundreds he takes each game.

I was a bit concerned by the goals we gave away yesterday. We continue to show glimpses of nice play but didn't create too much and the three we scored were a penalty, some suspect goalkeeping and an own goal. Hopefully a better showing against Met Police.

So that's six pre-season games played and not a single win yet. And only four goals scored from open play.

Let's hope it's one of those years when pre-season form is no guide whatsoever to how we perform in the league.

To be fair, four of the six have been against fairly testing opposition - home against full-time players or away at clubs from one level above us. I don't think the Met Police game will be exactly a stroll either, as they got to the Div IS play-offs last season.

Pre-season is a bit like the dress rehearsal...a good one means you'll screw up the real thing ;D
