Great day at The Oval yesterday but too crowded. Can't anyone leave home any more without taking half the contents of their house with them ? Sadly, Billy, since 2005 most Cricket grounds are full of such types. My Dad had regular tickets to the Oval test every summer until the Johnny come latelys rocked up in 2005 and now since he isn't shagging an NPower medal girls there's no chance of a ticket. Personally i got into following cricket properly during the whitewash in 2007 so i'm exempt on reasons of insanity

Yes,it's a shame.I rarely miss a Surrey home game but don't go to Test Matches very often any more.
The first one i went to was against the West Indies in 1966 but it's not worth the hassle any more.A big percentage of the crowd are drunken idiots in silly clothes.
I like a few pints more than most but have (nearly) always done it in the pub at night.

Biggest : 100,000 - FA Cup finals. Man City - Spurs & Spurs - QPR. 81 & 82 I think.
Smallest : 54. Away to Thame in a League cup tie. Very foggy.

Give me the trophy please. ;D Many Wembley internationals with 100,000. Lowest was Cranleigh v Raynes Park Vale 11. (Bedfont Green v Colliers Wood United 15)! So 99,989 difference.

It might not get that far!! Should be OK for Sunday,i'm not bothered to be honest. They should have picked Ramprakash - the best batsman in England by a country mile for at least 5 years. The largest crowds I have been at are the "Full Houses" at the old Wembley where the toilets were the next blokes pocket The lowest may have been away in the fog at Thame. What a long way to go and see nothing. I was at the Oval on Friday to see Broad & Swann bowl out the Aussies and have to agree about the type of follower the game now has. Many do not know the Laws of the game. I have to disagree about picking Ramps though. Leading run scorer in England for the past few years, he may be, but he never had the balls for International Cricket (like a certain G Hick), he bats for himself and where would you field him?

Ramps is still a very good fielder. He is on his toes and ready for every delivery, all day long.
The vast majority of his Test Matches were as a Middlesex player, since joining Surrey he averages 77,does not "play for himself" and doesn't,like say Boycott, play for his average. He has often been the last man out with a dummy, like Collins or Akram at the other end.
