And they beat Aveley, who thumped Kingstonian 6-1 on Saturday. If we thought Margate were poor on the first day of the season, I can't imagine how bad the Ks are at the moment!

I believe that Paul Nichols played for them alongside Westy and Dunn, quite a little Sutton side they are building there. I understand they even wanted Steve Watts crutches did not bother them

I can't see how they can afford Nichol's wages. He doesn't come cheap.I thought they had money problems.

There is absolutely no truth in the rumour that we are now your feeder club !!
I don't quite know where all this love and frendship has come from-but long may it continue.
It seems that 4-0 defeat was the best thing thats happened to us-maybe you just took sympathy.
More seriously-we were never that bad-just not quite ready for a team as strong as yours in early games-lacked a goalie and striker. We now have a decent squad-although for next few games have alot of inujuries and suspensions so we could go downhill again for a few weeks. realistically -we are a mid table side this year-never as bad as we were in that first game
I rate West as a more valuable player to us than Dunn-who is going back to you anyway. We needed a target man-west seems to fit the bill. is he more of a goal creator than goalscorer though-i read he only scored once for you in about 12 appearances last season
Is West now a free agent. Whats his strengths and weaknesses-seems pretty good in the air. Is he fit.
Can he also coach ? How come you had west and Mckimm as coaches last season-how did that work.
All the best. FA Cup tie coming up !!

As long as you are as prepared on 12 Sept, we'll be happy.
Ah Westy - in the year he was here, he became a bit of a cult legend. One of Dos's first signings when he arrived, he was assistant manager, and was really good as a right hand man.
Left at the end of the season as he wanted regular first team footy, which we couldn't offer him. It was all very amicable, and it wouldn't surprise me if Westy comes back in some capacity. Apart from his coaching and leadership skills, hes very good with Billy Dunn, who apart from amazing raw talent, can be very difficult to manage - I think you have Billy there as a result of Westy more than anything else.
Does struggle with 90mins of play, but I'd have him back here at a drop of a hat. Oh and watch out when you play Hornchurch and he plays - they think he's a money grabbing bastard. That's certainly not the case!
I think you guys are really lucky to have picked him up - the fact hes as comfortable as a defender as a striker gives you more options too. To quote Football Manager "Although he's not getting any younger, he's still a worthwhile signing"

Whilst Westy didn't score many, when he did play, he had an influence. His performance in the Carshalton derby game @ Xmas was awesome. They just couldn't handle him.
Top bloke. Hope he can keep going for a few more years yet.
