It's almost 40 years since that memorable FA Cup game. One of our supporters who recalls the game, a professional author, has written a book about it all. More details to follow but I'd like to ask two questions:-
1/. How many of you would be interested in a copy ? 2/. What sort of price would be reasonable ?
The final price will depend on printing costs and the number of copies we think we can sell.

You won't have much luck, this mob won't even pay £2.50 for a programme.

I'd be interested in a copy. As for cost, I suppose it depends on the book itself. Will it be hardback? How many pages etc.

Certainly very interested in a copy - may be two.
As for cost: I guess I agree with the Tazman "it depends on the book itself".

It's just a bit hard to judge without knowing a little bit more about it. To be honest, a whole book being written about one game of football doesn't sound as though it would have particularly broad appeal. Is it being written purely from a factual, historical standpoint or is it more of a personal account?

I'll borrow Taz's copy.
Okay I could possibly be interested, would the club get anything from this?

I have yet to see the content, but I know it contains interviews with players from both sides and I guess it covers the earlier matches in that cup run as well. I'm waiting for final details about page numbers, photos etc. From my e-mail exchanges with the author I believe it's a mixture of factual reporting with personal recollections. In terms of style, we have made no decisions at all so that's part of the purpose of raising this issue. I know that it's hard to give a definitive view without all the facts, especially costs, but it would be helpful to know the general feeling in terms of hardback/softback; size A4, A5 etc, gloss/matt. I do know there are no colour photos.

"Okay I could possibly be interested, would the club get anything from this? "
That really depends on how many we can sell and what it costs to produce. The aim is to at least break even and hopefully make a small profit, but that's all we would do. This isn't a big money-making idea and the author has done it all as a labour of love.

I misunderstood, I thought the author was doing it and seeing if we wanted to buy any rather than the club and author doing it as a joint venture. Yes then I will take one, subject to price.
