A pleasing result after a hard game in the midweek, well done boys.

sonny cobbs is fast becoming my player of the season! Tonbridge were their usual selves with acrobatic dives and bruising tactics. Their no6 was a prize plum, although their no3, heath was prob one of the best opposing players id seen all year. Their goal was a stinker by scriv, who otherwise was brilliant. Cobbs, aj and phillips also had great games. Gargans placing of the goal was sublime, and the winner came from a wonderful ball in by billy dunn. A hard fought win against a tough side!

Has to be the best game of the season for me so far and on par with our 3-1 victory there last season to get a last minute winner after being 1-0 at HT and shutting the home fans up who had set themselves up for a fall was the sweetest of all moments. Tonbridge were some what physical but we fought hard to match them and as the game wore on we earned the right to play some good football, we kept going right to the end and took a deserved 3pts from an inform side. We can still improve especially in front of the back four when we close down high up the pitch we look a much better side then when we sit back and end up defending too deep. Over the moon at today's result and Tuesday will be tougher but what better way to warm up for it Oh and the travelling support was loudest it has been all season as well! It also seems that some of the TAFC supporters were not best pleased with their own supporters behaviour today, maybe they should look at the role models they have at the club to see why a certain element is emerging: www.tonbridgeafc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,6893.0.html

Foul language can get out of hand sometimes, but you can't help but smile when the goalie kicks the ball...
Shame I couldn't be there because I quite like Tonbridge and the stadium but some things you can't get out of.

I have just been on the Tonbridge Forum giving my own views on the after match antics of some of their "Fans" To be fair to them quite a few posts were saying how upset and ashamed they were with a certain section of their crowd. What a bloody good day out!come on Sutton.

Their abuse of Dos was totally out of proportion today. When you consider their manager's recent history, you'd think they may have been a little more cute but then......
Great win today after going one behind & defending the slope in the second half. If Angels' players spent more time on their game than moaning at the ref all match, they might do better. On paper they have some good players and in their left back their oustanding performer. He did his job and got on with the game, Carl Rook take note!!
Just before our winner, Stef Payne had the ball on the right wing with an opponent jockeying him. The 6 shouted "kick him". A few mins later Steph was on the left and the 6 did kick him. We scored from the free-kick. Don't you just love it when that sort of attitude is penalised in the most conclusive way possible?
Great team performance, Scrivs may have erred with regards their goal but other than that he was impressive and has begun to perform consistently well. The defence handled the high ball far better today, while the midfield worked hard and passed the ball around well at times.
A mention for Sam Gargan, who ploughed a lone furrow up front today and scored the equaliser with a well placed shot.
Fair play to their 'keeper who clapped the U's fans at the end of the match.
I bet Dos is smiling big time tonight, I only hope his car was ok as it appeared to be attracting some attention after the game.

Nice day I'd have been pleased with the point but then that's not the Sutton way at the moment! Time waste at your peril against the better late than never U's ;D Good performance all round today so as much as it's probably unfair to single out a player, i will, because i thought Kevin Scriven was excellent for us today. Though he'll be relieved his error didn't cost us points he made some smart saves when we were under pressure and he could easily have crumbled after his mistake but didn't. Top stuff Their three was good but we played to his advantage with the balls we sent down that way, he didn't look so smart being ran at. We're getting there and the morale boost of the win can only help us Also, me and my brother were given a lift back to the station by Alan Payne which only underlined what a top bloke he is and our short chat on the way was most enjoyable. He's claiming the 4-5-1 tactic btw...

Someone mentioned to me,but i didn't see it, but Scriven may not have ben at fault for their goal as i understand it got deflected off Bradley Thomas's head.

It's strange that so many of our games this season are following similar patterns, particularly with decisive late goals. Thankfully most of those are going in our opponents' nets. It shows the benefit of plugging away until the final whistle. Angels had a lot of free kicks and corners, especially in the second half, and it was pleasing that we managed to keep them out after conceding that messy goal just before half-time. We didn't create many openings, but the goals from Sam and Sonny were beautifully placed. It's a shame that a minority of the Tonbridge supporters seem more interested in bating a visiting manager than supporting their own team. We're now 7th and only two points off 2nd place. But will we be able to peg back runaway leaders Dartford on Tuesday?
