I reckon I know where the letter came from....I hear the whining every game. They even start before the kick off.

We all know there are moaners at GGL. These are people who generally don't go to away games, don't post on this forum and don't attend the meet-the-manager evenings.
Our recent home performaces (Tonbridge in particular) have been disappointing, but some spectators' expectations are just too high. It's they who have the problem, not the manager. If they really don't want to watch Paul Doswell's team playing then they can always find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon. Most of us would say good riddance!

Sorry OS but you underestimate the ignorance of some of the paying public at GGL & also their malice. You only have to listen to some of the rubbish that gets yelled out at GGL to realise that. Well if it did come from a so called Sutton fan then you are absolutely right, I don't understand at all?

That letter cannot possibly have been written by a Sutton United fan. If it was he is an unbelievably ignorant one, someone who is totally oblivious of the enormous contribution Paul Doswell has made to our football club.
As one gentleman very eloquently expressed at our recent Q&A evening when the discussion came around to our various signings over the past couple of years; the very best signing made at the club for some time has been Paul Doswell himself who has completely changed the mood of the place and hugely for the better.
After yesterday's performance (the best I have seen from a Sutton side - and its supporters - for a long time and after which I am still buzzing) I hope this guy has the respect to pen an appropriate apology.
Rarely I have heard such misguided nonsense as that written by this idiot. As a Sutton fan of nearly 40 years, I hope Paul Doswell is our manager for a long time to come and I'm sure true Sutton fans agree with me. End of story.

Seems bloody stupid to me. If it was indeed written by a Sutton 'supporter', then what a dick!
Fair enough, if you feel strongly enough to write directly to the manager & criticise him, then at least make it bloody constructive.
Don't understand people sometimes......

Can i make a suggestion? Why dont all the real supporters put pen to paper and tell DOS what we really think of him and the boys. A huge pile of letters in the dugout on Saturday showing our support would be brilliant! I will gladly gather them in the players bar before the game and get them to DOS. By the way for the younger supporters a letter is when you write your message on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope before delivery. What do you think?

Hi.
I left Hampton on an absolute high on Saturday to go and visit my daughter who is at Uni down in Dos's part of the world.
I was astonised to come back this morning and read his post match report and see this thread about the letter Paul received. I stand near the infamous moaning area at GGL but not even I thought that they would get this bad.
I am a relative newcomer to Sutton but over the past couple of seasons have really enjoyed my afternoons and evenings at Sutton and more recently at a number of away games.
I find Paul refereshing and his football entertaining most of the time and will be writing to him to let him know my feelings. I cannot match some of the moaners I have come across in terms of the number of years I have followed Sutton but hope my vocal support for the team at least drowns them out in part on a saturday afternoon.
I will happily join in whichever pro-dos chants we get going on Saturday and if I bump into him again in the bar or at an away game I will thank him face to face for the efforts of him, Alan and all the players.

The worst thing about a discussion like this is that it suggests a problem where there isn't one and it also provides a bit of sport for the neighbours. I am sure that the reception on Saturday for the manager and the players and the discussions in the bar afterwards made it clear that the comments expressed by this moron were not shared by anyone else associated with the club. Win, lose or draw on Saturday take the time in the bar after the game to let Dos and the players know what you think. Oh and Mr Angry from ? pop in as well and say what you feel face to face. Believe me if the team plays badly we have the sort of manager and players who will be first to hold their hands up and take responsibilty but then Mr A I don't really think your that sort of person, are you.
As a post script to these comments I would like to say that in all honesty and from the bottom of my heart I hate f**king moaners. Pi** off home, get your quill pen out and write something supportive.
