Why are they still full-time for christ's sake when they're running at losses of £500k a year?!! Surely the Conference is only a couple of years away from becoming a part-time league again?

It's a ridiculous league. The traditional non-league teams are living way beyond their means trying to compete with the relegated ex league clubs.
Woking had a better average attendance last season than both Morecambe and Dagenham & Redbridge, yet are losing 500k a year according to that article. Just makes you wonder what those two promoted teams are losing?

Didn't Matt sign a two year contract?

Woking a having an interesting close season. A lot of their full timers from last season have left, whilst many new signings are from our league - including a few from their manager's old club, Farnborough. These new players will be going full time, but I bet they're on significantly less money than the one's who have left. Not sure if it will work, but they seem to be repositioning themselves for the future.
I still don't think the Conference Premier will revert to part time status now there are quite a few ex-league teams in it (even Salisbury are starting to go full time), but there will definitely be more club failures down the line. I see Weymouth have been taken over (apparently debt free) by Mel Bush, the music promoter, who must have a few spare pounds to throw about!
