I am seriously tempted to change my plans and go with this if we can get another 4 together...? Who else is going on this train? Well make sure you let me know if you do

Sarah, since i'm only likely to save more money on top of my yp railcard fare, you would just need to find another interested party (3 people minimum for groupsave) and it would be £26.35 each. Four people and it becomes the £19.75 that the others are paying. Basically a groupsave is the price of two off-peak returns. The price split is done by the the group (so you're not actually getting a £19.75 ticket but four tickets for £79). Hope you all followed that. Neil, if your tickets are refundable, get a refund on them and groupsave with me and Sal and it's cheaper

I can't resist the idea of a huge bunch of Suttonites in one train carriage ;D

If people want the groupsave, book it on www.trainline.com. All you do is enter the 'railcard' option as "Groupsave 4". Don't worry about getting the tickets, they can be collected from any automated ticket machine that you nominate when you purchase (I'll be getting mine this evening from the machine at Bobbinsville). All you need with you is the card they were bought with. BTW, those training it, I hope you like Jelly.

However, I hope nobody will think that I have the hide of a rhino by asking if there's a chance that there's a kind Sutton fan out there, who is able and willing to save a compete stranger (me!) and a couple of others some money on their fare? We'll naturally buy you enough beers in the bar to make it worthwhile! Don't feel guilty if not!

Burtie, if there's definitely 4 of you and you need tickets, let me know. I can probably sort them out for you in return for crisp £20 notes upon arrival at Paddington.

You should still be able to get the Groupsave 3. You just split 2 adult fares 3 ways instead of 4 ways (As Medibot mentioned above). It's not sub 20 quid, but still under 30.

Brilliant - thanks Taz. There are definitely three of us going and any discount will be hugely appreciated and ploughed back into the beer fund.
If it goes any way to repaying the favour, I get a 20% discount at M&S should you want to get your beers from there. (although to be honest I'll probably use the Sainsbury's next door...)

If the main train party are on the 10.21 from Paddington, they won't get to Hereford until 13.40 - so not a huge amount of time for pre-match drinking. I'd therefore suggest meeting in the Wetherspoons pub the King's Fee in Commercial Road, which I reckon is about 5 minutes' walk from the station on the way to the ground. It's about 10 minutes' walk from there on to Edgar Street.
I hope to be in Hereford earlier checking out the Beer Guide pubs, but will aim to get to the King's Fee for 13.45 if others are going to be there.
Would that work for JJ and others in the coach party?

What about the Commercial opposite the Spoons, it is a place one of the Hereford fans mentioned on their board.
