The referee was one of the worst I've seen for a long while in no way shape or form was he up to refereeing an FA Cup 1st round match. You brought a good few and I hope you did enjoy your day but we deserved to go through without a shadow of a doubt.

I can't remember but did MaCallum play today, It would of been good if he had scored the decisive goal in a replay at your place

Just got back to Salisbury. Overall I thought it was a fair result. Hereford didn't do a great deal but when they went down to 10 men they remained well organsied and we rarely looked like breaking through two banks of four set up defensively. Hereford also worked very hard and pressed the ball throughout despite being a man down for a long time. The first goal was messy and more than a bit unlucky. A headed clearance just outside the "D" hit our own man and they got in behind us, the keeper made a good save but the ball broke badly for us and got scrambled in. Fair play to the lads they kept going thoughout and had good spells in both the 1st and 2nd half. Matt Hann looked the man most likely to create something so I was surprised when he moved from wide right where he was troubling their left back a lot. We didn't look like scoring and were always going to be vulnerable to a break late on. The penalty decision was too far away to see but killed the game off for us. Overall I thought the team did themselves credit but will be a bit disappointed with the 2nd half particularly when too many errors stopped us applying any prolonged pressure agianst 10 men. The support was excellent, 205 Us there according to the score board and much noisier than a very quiet Hereford. Finally, I have to say that Edgar Street has seen much better days. The away terrace provides an awful view and it cost me £44 for 2 adults and 2 boys, then £5 for 3 cups of tea! No wonder they don't get very big crowds for their league.

Thought we were very good in the first half but got worse in the second. Danny and AJ2 always look like they are going to do something but never actually seem to do anything. Was very dissapointed with them.
On a good note, thought we played well and could have nicked a goal. Sam worked very hard today and thought he played very well and battled hard thought billy hawes was excellent today and scrivs made a few vital saves.
Was a great day out.

Well some very strange comments from the Hereford fans. They had one shot in the first half, we had 3 on target in the first 15 minutes. We were unlucky as the ball didn't drop to feet from Hawes' long throws which the hereford defence seemed utterly clueless. Going forward Hereford were very good and stretched our defence and had the right ball been played the game could have been beyond reach. Saying that I thought we had the better of the first half.
I was surprised the ref let a few things go, like when the Bulls played punched the ball off McKimm's head and they did like to push a bit (they'll say that about Goodliffe of course).
We had a couple of half shouts for a pen in the first half and the sending off was spot on according to one of their stewards.
We didn't create much in the second half as Hereford got all their men behind the ball and relied on quick counter attacks.
The lads fought very hard and on another day may have had the luck to earn at least a reply. My thanks to Dos and the boys for the great effort they have put in for this years cup run. You should be immensley proud of yourselves. Let's now do this in the league.
Many thanks for the club making our coach journey so cheap, it makes up for the ludicrously expensive prices in the ground - £1.70 for some hot water, a tea bag and a dash of milk!!
A good day out, pity about a couple of posters on here who can't be gracious in victory. Lord knows what you're like when you lose, which appears to be quite often. You're just lucky that Darlington and Grimsby are so poor otherwise it could be a real struggle.

Had a great day today, the train journey down was of the upmost! meeting new Us like King Dong, Prince Ding-a-Ling and Burtie the Groomer, seeing old face like Sallycat, Wellie, Taz, Medibot, Neil and firm leader Nick the Greek on the train made is all worth while.
Shame about the Result as i felt that we played poor, and as bad Hereford, a silly defence goal, and a penalty. With only Billy Hawes as our best chance!
We seem to be our worst enemy at the moment, not playing our own game when we need to, too many games like this:- Waltham Abbey, Tonbridge and Walton & Hersham.
Hope I beat Plough Rovers tomorrow in the Morden & District league Div 8, or at least play with passion in defeat!
PS not to be downhearted on the day, lovley day out, but it was on the cards since last week. Oh well hope we put out a strong team on tuesday against Horsham in the RLC. We are running out of silverware we can obtain!

I've been told by Nick the Greek (Firm Leader) to emphasize that new members King Dong, Prince Ding-a-Ling and Burtie the Groomer are nickname tbc.

I just deleted one post from a Hereford fan, if it continues I will start banning them if they cannot be civil It was always going to be difficult once we conceded the early goal and although the opposition were far better than last week the problem of unlocking a defence with that killer ball was evident again. The whole team worked their socks off and gave an excellent account of themselves, as Dos says the penalty did not make much difference in the end. As Duke said we should not feel downhearted about today because the 2nd div side did not have it easy and we are just that bit away from that bit of quality we need to get us promoted. I have a sneaky feeling that Jerson might be the player to deliver it for us? Bring on Horsham and then promotion I told you it would be that bloody Manset, if we did not get a result today

I thought it was a brave performance by Sutton, but we learned two hard lessons.
1. We gave away a soft early goal against league opposition and after that it was always going to be hard to get anything from the game.
2. Despite playing most of the game against ten men we failed to score, and indeed rarely tested their keeper, which revealed the limitations in our attack.
But there are two positives to take from the match.
1. Even before the sending off, we more than matched Hereford in possession and pressure, which was no mean achievement.
2. If we play as well as that in the remainder of the league campaign we should be strong contenders for promotion.

The match stats were interesting and quite enlightening. Hereford shaded possession 51 - 49%; both sides had 4 shots on target and 3 shots off target; they had 6 corners to our 5.
Despite the three division difference between the sides, the stats back up my impression that we matched them in most respects and should be proud of our efforts. Paul Doswell has brought the team a long long way in a season and a bit for sure. It's great that Sutton fans can once again enjoy days like yesterday ; and it looked - and sounded - more than the 205 quoted from where I was standing. It's also a good job we turned up in those numbers for the attendance because Hereford's home support, for a Football League side, was very very disappointing.
The difference was a scrambled early goal and a very harsh late penalty (particularly harsh on the excellent Jason Goodliffe who was my MOM) - in between we were their equals but just lacked the penetration in the final third. Huge effort though - well done everyone.
There's more to come from this side; onwards and upwards. See you at Horsham on Tuesday.

Cracking day out and there's not really much to add to the above. What I like is the honesty of Dos in his post match interviews. Well done U's!

Great effort from the lads and utterly brilliant support!!! 205 Us fans made the trip to (almost)Wales and gave full blooded support for the whole game. Put the home fans to shame. Although we did not defend the first goal well, there was a BLATANT push on Jason in the build-up that led to the goal. Despite what Hereford fans may think, the ref did not have Sutton blinkers on, but a blindfold. He even had to ask the fourth official about their 22's violent conduct for the sending off. I saw the blow thrown from our poor position in the sh*t stand we were put in. The ref was looking straight at the incident. Also, did anyone see what their penalty was actually given for Needless to say I feel we were well worth a draw and a replay, but life is never fair and in spite of a valiant effort for everyone we can now concentrate on the league. Well done PD, AP and the lads for yet another entertaining and profitable cup run! Now lets push for the promotion we are capable of achieving. PAUL DOSWELL'S YELLOW BROWN ARMY!

As always our Manager's honest comments say it all. We did come up short but we did not lack effort. Great support gathered from all over the place. Also, glad I wasn't the only one to see the obvious push on the back of Jason that should have led to a free-kick well before the goal incident. Individually their players were sharper but not necessarily more skillful. Both team and supporters must now focus on the league with no loss of energy or purpose because this is our realistic aim.

I know what PD has said about Stefan, but we lacked that bit of quality up front yesterday and he has just signed for Fulham 4 divisions above Hereford. Why on this one occasion did we not use him?
