No trouble at all in any of the three Hereford pubs I visited.
I'm guessing the pub with the unfriendly locals was the Commercial, which is the big one close to the station turning.

No, the few locals I spoke to were very friendly - one guy was going out of his way to shake our hands and thanking us for coming and wishing us well for the season.
You get the odd idiot everywhere unfortunately - you're quite right to turn the other cheek.

Was you wearing a Blue coat, and an older chap, I went passed the Commercial pub, (by the station) and saw a couple of men saying that they had a go at a Sutton fan with his old man.
You cannot go out for a few drinks without some one having a go. These guys I saw had very short hair with a tash.
Some of the fans i spoke to were decent, but you do get a few who cannot handle their beer.
No doubt they were farmers working on a stall or market some where.
