Fair result in the end.Match played in very foggy conditions and from what i could see we didn't defend very well and with only one up front we lacked punch.Still i only expect two or three of the starting eleven to be playing on saturday in a much more meaningful game.

I thought it was a good workout for our second string although KES, DP and AJ2 all played tonight the rest were all reserve or fringe players. Oh and Stefan Cox.
Paul Smith looks a decent keeper not at fault for either goal, the first a peach 20 yard dipping volley, equalising DP's well taken goal after a good move. Horsham were big and strong and we rarely caused them too many problems after the first 20mins. We worked hard but the final pass was often not hit hard enough or hit to strongly and was either moped up by a defender or pick up by their keeper. A bit disappointed in AJ2 tonight as he really showed very little and Jerson who I most wanted to see made little impression on the game.
The booking for the dangerous one footed lunge (not my words but the refs) on their keeper I though was harsh as it looked like a completely fair if not stiff challenge to me?

Starting XI (from memory) was: Paul Smith, Kes, Bradley T, James Hawes, Jazz Gold, Stefan Cox, AJ2, Perkins, Eliott Mitchell, Jerson, Danny Phillips.
Harding & Kavanagh were 2nd half subs.
Thought the team did ok. Started brightly, took the lead then lost our way a bit & they scored twice (fairly sure the second goal was down to the keeper OS!). Apart from that, we competed reasonably well. Sadly despite creating a few openings, it was always that final ball that let us down in the end.
One final point, f*ck me their bench didn't half go on! Some of the bollocks being appealed for was pathetic. 50-50's fair enough, chance your arm, but there is a limit!

Got home just as quick as if the game had been at Sutton, the M23, M25 & A13 were all empty !

I thought it was OK bearing mind we had almost an entire reserve side out there and from what I understand from a Horsham fan, they put out the best team they could taking a few injuries into account.
They seemed physically bigger and stronger too.
I quite liked what I saw of Jazz Gold and Jerson hit a decent first half free kick. I think he needs more service to feet or the ball into space he can run into to get the best out of him. Danny worked his socks off (as always).
Heard a couple of comments in second half along the lines of "the whole team was not trying" or "they dont want to get in the first team". I thought these were unfair as effort did not seem the problem. Reserve team against a first team will be difficult in any league.
Must agree about the motorways. the M23 and A23 was deserted. It was wierd

I can't fault the effort they made.We know horsham are big and strong and apart from Kes and Steve Perkins are team didn't have a lot of height.Jerson was isolated up front and like Stefan struggled on his own.We didn't create much, were sloppy at the back and Horsham could easily have had four, the amount of space they had.

The main worry i have at the moment is that before the Walton abby game we were on a nice little role, and im worried that after no win in 3 and the team being mixed up a bit, that we've lost our momentum. We need to get back into the stride of things if were going to make a real push for promotion, and we defo need a second striker with SG because our 4-5-1 only works away from home with the right players. I think we need to be able to go 4-4-2 at home to show a more agressive motive.

I seem to agree - is Paul Smith the keeper that played for Southampton and Brentford??? also with Bradley and Billy out on loan and Stefan now at fulham i think we do need another striker hopefully Dos has something cooking in the fire etc
