Carshalton won 3-1 at home against WSM in the FA trophy They really weren't that amazing. Despite me boosting the away support by a good 20% Weston were their own worst enemy at times. Gave away a silly FK with a rash challenge that Beaney smartly whipped in on 11 mins. Visitors had what looked a legit goal ruled out soon after (keeper very suspect) then they hit a wide fk into a half arsed wall out wide (very poor delivery) from which Bobbins broke, found Mr Jolly with freedom of Surrey, 2-0. Game over? Well it certainly was straight after. The bloke who delivered the crap fk that gave Bobs the breakaway then had a standup row with his no4, who was then sent off for violent conduct! Rest of the half was pretty dull. Nowt happened. Second 45 was much the same. Only moments of note were another Beaney FK from out wide that found it's way straight into the far corner (really poor GK\defending) to make it 3-0 and WSM pulling one back not long after straight in from a corner. More very iffy goalkeeping here. Weston were poor. No 1st choice keeper, no cutting edge up front and looked very low on confidence. However, having said that the Bobbins created very little overall from open play. BTW. Despite Lewis (boooo!) recently departing & Honey on the bench, Bobbins are still a bit SUFC old-boys with Jones Awuah, Karl Murray, Roberts & Beaney starting. None 'stood out' alhtough Beaney went about his business very tidily.

I was told he'd last turned out for Dulwich. But it seems this may be a temporary measure until Mr Bird confirms his next club....

The results went well for us, keeping us in eighth place. Boreham Wood (just above us) and Maidstone (just below us)both lost, while the draw between Canvey and Tonbridge keeps them both in our sights.
The Trophy results mean that four Ryman Premier teams will be involved in the first round on 12 December. Good luck to them, but the reduced league fixture list on that date gives us an opportunity to march up the table (though K's will doubtless have other ideas).
