I heard yesterday that a main sewer running under the Cove FC (Combined Counties League) pitch burst over the weekend causing a large amount of effluent to be deposited over the playing surface. You won’t be surprised to learn that the HSE and Thames Water won’t allow anyone on the pitch until the damaged pipe has been repaired and the surface contamination has been cleared, cleaned and declared safe & fit for purpose.
