We all no steve watts makes a difference for the 30 mins he comes on, but is he fit to play? If you are fit to play then he should play, if he isn't fit to play he shouldn't be at this club.
Poulton, he plays half a game, does not move out of the centre circle and then comes off. If he isn't fit to play at this level, why is he here?

Agreed regarding Watts. What's going to happen if he starts a game ? Will he suddenly collapse after 27 minutes or what ?
Poulton has a bit of class and guile about him and he doesn't ask to be taken off.

Supposing he is recovering from several knee ops and at present is building up his stamina.Do you say he shouldn't come on as a sub?Do you keep him and give him more and more time every match? I know what i would do. Watto and Poulto make a big difference to the team.Quality players all be it towards the end of their careers who wouldn't normally be playing at this level.

What's wrong with having him come off the bench? Liverpool used Fairclough like that many years ago & reaped dividends.
He missed almost the whole of last season & then had another knee op in the summer & is slowly but surely gaining fitness. He's done pretty well when he's come on and is well worth his place in the squad.

What was wrong last night was that Sutton were 4 - 1 down when he came on.He would have buried that chance Gargan missed and possibly one or two more.
He's a good player not a miracle worker................

I am not sure why there is confusion over Steve Watts, Dos has made it quite clear on several occasions. He was out almost all last season just managing to make a few short appearances after what I believe was a serious knee operation. His age and type of operation means a long recovery and just as importantly a long period to get back to full match fitness, a road he is still on. The reason he is at the club is because when fit or even half fit he is a quality player and as said with ability from above our level and everybody wants him to start every game. Its a question of just being patient and hopefully by the end of the season he could be giving us 90 mins just when we need it most

I think what people are saying is why can't he start a match and be subbed as soon as needed?

Look beano, wattso has made a difference coming on as sub a few times, he shakes things up and puts his weight about amongst tiring defenders. Every player has their different things they bring to the table - poulto with his passing, gargo and his finishing, billo and his throw-ins, AJ Brayo and his clearances.
LAY OFF FATTY!

Verno's right.
Also, if he DIDN'T come on as sub, then Andy wouldn't be able to do his Pingu impression.

Sorry, meant Ando.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Mr Watts himself might think he's not fit enough to start yet? After all, its his knee!

Glad to see these things are noticed - I don't think i'm fit enough to do that for 90mins! Your penguin impression is one of my top 5 reasons for going to watch Sutton United. Seriously. I must admit though, I've always felt that Watto's peculiar gait reminds me a bit more of a Tyrannosaurus Rex than a penguin, but on the other hand it's more difficult to do an amusing impression of one of them.

I'm quite honoured Burtie Watch Watts when he does a cock up - his reaction is the same everytime - sadly most un-penguin like!
