Straight to Tolworth then on Saturday, might even make kick off now!! I suppose the venue will change again by the end of the week though!! This is basically a pre-season game of Mornington Crescent. Proper football grounds are not allowed under pre-season rules (which means, of course, that Colston Avenue is allowed). The game goes: Player 1: Chiswick Player 2: New Malden Player 3: Tolworth Player 4: Mornington Crescent! NW1 it is, then! I understand that Samantha, Sven and just possibly Mrs Trellis may be at the match .

Surely anti-clockwise moves aren't allowed on a Saturday ? Or has Humph lost his rule book ?

They are if you use the Hamilton Manoeuvre and take cut-offs on the diagonals north of the river. It is a Saturday, after all. I assume we're playing by the 2005 rules and not the 1998

Ah yes, the good old "Hammy", as we used to call it in the upper 6th at St Swithin's High. Reminds me of an hour well spent one morning between pubs when we tried to explain the rules of Mornington Crescent to he who is now the club's Press Secretary. At the end of it all, sad to say, he was absolutely none the wiser.

Please explain this Mornington Crescent thing to those who only attended a meagre comprehensive!! As a tube station, is it considered the most central with regards to the whole network or is there something more sinister to consider?

Sallycat and Suttonview, do I sense a game of Mornington Crescent being planned with our Chief Steward - perhaps during an idle moment at Thurrock - to help him understand the game ?

I think this is a very good idea indeed. We should bring in a more simplistic version- say Boxell's (93) Junior Version?

Mr F, you should know by now that Google and Wikipedia are your friends. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mornington_Crescent_%28game%29
