What I can't understand is how another lame duck club are able to 'Start again' in a league as high as the Ryman?? What's wrong with then starting in the Essex Senior League??

Another club might be added into the mix as well. There's a rumour of a BSS club having failed their ground grading this season. Trying to find out who. Will report back if I find anything else....... Anyones guess but Lewes are not out of the woods yet either? Nope, not Lewes either apparently!

Ok well I have had a look round and I would say the most likely club in trouble is St Albans, a lot of unrest there big budget cuts and there forum does suggest no money spent on the ground? Give me 5/1 and I take it saintschat.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general

Although I hope they do merge with Grays because the fans hate each other (Thats both of them) ;D

I've got a name from one source, but I'm still sniffing about.

No. It's not Thurrock. Not saying any more until I get at least another source come back to me with the same name as I've already got.

I think we been through almost every club now, so what about Worcester City, maybe focusing on their new ground too much and not wanting to spend on their existing one? Then I give up

The thread title is "... Heading for the Ryman" if it was "... Heading for the Combined Counties" then you'd be almost bang on.

Grays searching for new home
Tuesday 13th April 2010
GRAYS Athletic are in talks with several Non-League clubs over a groundshare after their own ground was sold off.
The club is reportedly seeking admission to the Ryman League, dropping down even further following their relegation from the Blue Square Premier.
One of the reasons for this is thought to be that a groundshare arrangement with a local club whose facilities can host Step 2 football is not available.
Club secretary Joel Nathan tells the Thurrock Gazette: “The ground has been sold, our last home game will be against Forest Green on April 24.
“We won’t be going in the Blue Square South, the ground sharing rates we’ve been quoted just don’t add up.
“We are looking, if accepted, to be in the Ryman League next season.
“We have a few different options, but more than likely we will share a ground with another club in the Ryman.”
East Thurrock United is thought to be the most likely destination for a ground share.
Mr Nathan also quashed rumours there are plans to move the club to Loughton, where he and chairman Andy Swallow run a football academy.
He added: “There are absolutely no plans for that from Grays’ point of view.
“We don’t own Grays Athletic Football Club, we just run it.”
The Bridge Road ground has been the home of the Blues for 120 years.
The sale comes as the club was unable to negotiate viable terms for a new lease with the ground’s owners, the Billings family.
