Comments like stand somewhere else or put in two hours a week are not really relevant or justify the breeze block eyesores!

Are comments like the new dugouts will help Dos and his team manage the players better, thus getting a better performance out of them and giving us a better chance of success relevant?

You could say the same for the away side! You could - but that's not Dos's job to worry about. His is to squeeze every bit of potential out of the playing resources he's got. If he does that then we've got a bloody good chance, and I'm happy with that!

If you were to think about this in terms of the chaos theory, these dugouts could mean the difference between promotion and relegation... maybe

Most of us understand that the old dugouts were far from perfect but surely Dos can communicate with his players. After all every other manager we've had has managed it.

On the subject of whether they are due to be painted or not...how about some sponsership on the back and sides of the dugouts? The company I work for could be intreasted in this..if this is a possiblity? What would be the cost to advertise? cheers

I believe the initial plan was to have a perspex top but finances would not run to that (Fulham not turning up may have been a pointer to that).
With regards to big cup ties, the enclosure is often made a sterile area to help with segregation and stop the massing around the tunnel at ht and ft.
While they don't look great they do a job and I'm sure the dugouts will be spruced up at some juncture. Obviously the positioning of them is an issue with the tunnel but that's because the tunnel was not aligned to the halfway line when the stand was built over 50 years ago. Obviously, the designers forgot their crystal ball back then and didn't realise the issues that not having dugouts equidistant from the halfway line would cause.
With the club looking to modernise the ground in the next few years, what is the point of shelling out a load of dosh on structures which may have to be moved to accommodate the new plans?
GGL is still one of the better Ryman Lgue grounds to visit and thanks to its size offers a number of other viewing opportunities other than the enclosure.

They dont look that bad from a distance (judging by the piccy above), however, I'm sure a lick of paint over the grey blocks would make them look a bit better.
Whats happening with the old dugouts? Are they staying there or being removed?

Wow, hopefully this is showing that the team are doing well, as we are not talking about the squad
To the people asking about the plastic dugouts They cost around £3000 per unit to buy plus the cost to install. The club don't have £6,000 to spend on dugouts, so they built them within a budget.
As some of you don't want to pay £10 to see Sutton play, the club can't pay out such a large amount of money.
To the people saying about the eyesore As OS said before, people have spent some of their free time building the dugouts for the club for FREE, using there own tools.
If you think the dugout are an eyesore, why not go down the club and help out? The team on Tuesday afternoons have been helping for about 5 years.
Lots of moaning with not a lot of action.

My comment about the plastic ones was tongue in cheek mate. And I may have missed somehing (which is entirely possible), but I dont remember anyone asking for help with the new dugouts. I would quite happily pop down and coat them in some paint. And sayng some of us dont want to pay £10 to watch Sutton play is not quite true, I would pay £10 to watch them play, but don't always have the money, hence why friendlies are a no - no and would rather wait until the start of the season when it counts.
