Looking at the teams on show today, bearing in mind it was a mainly first team Brentford side, it looks like they will struggle at League Two level and we will be making a serious challenge for the Blue Square South!
Against Whyteleafe we look impressive against a team obviously weaker than our own. Today was much more of a test, and to be totally honest we passed with flying colours. A lot of the new faces look comfortable and promising, and the up front partnership of Watkins and McBean are looking potentially very potent up front.
The defense does need a bit of shoreing up, but ironically it was Charlie Ide who scored for Brentford. Gareth Williams impressed in his first full match for Sutton in goal, and made some very good saves 2nd half.
One concern though. Warren missed a penalty TWICE. Took a weak one saved by the keepers legs, and it had to be retaken and Warren hit the post. Thats 3 penalty misses out of 3. Perhaps someone else should have a pop.
I've seen 2 out of 3 friendlies this week, and both Sutton impressed. I'm looking forward to this season more than many before!!!!

Brentford looked very poor indeed and it continues what has been a poor pre season for them, but we were the only team really in it for long periods and it could easily of been 5-1. Millwall's youngsters should be hungry to impress on Wednesday and it will be interesting to see how we do in that one. On what I saw today 18-1 against us getting promotion is a decent bet which I took along with £5 on us to go up and them to go down which would return £2755. The best squad we have had in 3 or 4 yrs I think very impressed with today's performance. As for Penalties well none score at home since April 2006 now 15 months

Great News, 3-1 victory against a league 2 side. Maybe The Bees should bring back Paul Merson, or is he in the game anymore... :-)

Hi chaps.
Well done on your victory today. Guess its pride, but have to set one thing straight. That was not our first team. A returning from injury, Charlie Ide should feature, but other than possibly Heywood, most would be squad players, and both triallists I would hope have not been signed.
Other than that, well done, you look to have a strong squad, physically and football wise.

Thought we looked good today, especially going forward. All 3 goals were brilliantly worked, 9 goals in 5 days is good going i think! Some of the newbies definitly looked the part. Although i don't quite yet share Andy's confidence in regards to challenging at the top , i think we'll be one of the better teams to watch next season. It looks like an interesting season ahead.

TBH, I think there might be a few sides out there with a bit too much spending power that'll allow 'em to boost their squads at key periods during the season for us to threaten the play-off spots, but we're looking fit and pretty organised. And it seems we've got a bit of firepower as well! Warren and Craig are looking very handy so far. And we had the very useful Mr Garness sitting in the stand as well. Warren's 2 goals today were superb. Shame about the pens! As for the Brentford side, even if they were triallists and squad players, very poor. I have a feeling Millwall's XI on wednesday will tell us more about our own squad.

Sutton scored in the 32nd minute courtesy of Craig Watkins. Eight minutes later, Watkins missed the chance to double his tally when he missed two penalties (the referee ordered a retake as he insisited Masters' had moved before the original spot kick, which he saved) the 2nd, Watkins' blasted his effort into the post.
found this on brentfords website.... yet they didnt get warren scoring twice wrong.
