Just as a little aside, to put the last month in the bit more perspective, we have the best srtike force in the league with the most goals scored, and the 2nd best defence in the league too.

Interesting to note that Aveley had to play extra time to beat Canvey Island in their Essex Senior Cup game tonight. Hopefully that'll tire a few legs ahead of Saturday.

Strange game. Not our best but didn't need to be. Doubt we'll see a side in a worse state than Croydon this season, but credit to the lads. They did the basics well and kept the ball down and killed Croydon off early.
First half Croydon made a reasonable start without threatening and then the first bit of quality, a cross from BWG, forced the own goal and it was one way traffic from there on. Then a great freekick from Ebs put made the result safe. Forbes chose the right game to get his penalty miss out of the way but bagged a goal anyway and all in all we put in a solid show.
Second half started where the first left off and Dundo showed great strength to push on through their defender and keeper for the fourth. We then lifted off a bit without letting the oppo back into the game and got a fifth with little effort. Then subs and BWG's injury broke the game up and the last 20 minutes was a bit of a drag asthe game limped to its inevitable conclusion. Skrivs stayed sharp for his only real save of the game and several players missed chances to add a sixth or more.
Job done and onward to Saturday. Well done lads and keep it up.
ps. Hope Bradley's ankle isn't too serious.

MOM for me was Craig Dundas, an absolute monster leading the line. I find that Craig plays a little bit deeper in away games and we lose out from that. Interesting to note that our performance dropped off when BWG went off - although I think it was because Craig dropped back into mid-field rather than directly missing Bradley (although we did that too).
