Dear Sian,
You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have.
The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire. Both of you have forgotten your purses.
It would be rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes.
The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.
Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma.
She prepares to throw her purse to you.
If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes!
At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and "whilst it is in flight" you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes!
BUT, you must always remember that until the purse has "actually been thrown", it would be plain wrong for you to be in front of the other shopper and you would be OFFSIDE!
Hope this helps
Regards
Andy Gray

A letter from Sian to Andy.
Dear Andy,
If you actually knew the offside rule so well, why did you constantly get it wrong?
Maybe if you did know the offside rule there wouldn't be so many people rejoicing the fact you won't be on Sky Sports any more.
Regards
Sian

Is it true that Andy Gray's daughter has to explain the offside rule to him before she's allowed a biscuit.

Neil, how could you post such an obviously wrong picture?!
I mean, how is she supposed to clean the bog and go to Sainsbury's if she's always in the kitchen?

Personally I'm totally against what Andy Gray and Richard Keys said, and I think it is now best forgotten and we should discuss something else. Hey did any one see the soccerette on soccer am last Saturday?, she was well fit.

A kid I was coaching this morning reckons players would react better and show more respect to more female refs. Now we had a referee here very recently, who I thought was weak and made poor decisions. I still think BWG would've sworn at a female ref for letting the same late challenge see him carried off injured.
A ref is a ref. Good or bad. Male or female.
And Gray and Keys are cocks. Not for sexist banter. They just are poor analysts.
