With professional footballers' salaries often in the news, does anyone know the average weekly pay for a semi-professional Ryman Premier League player and/or for a Sutton United player?
I understand it to be in the region £100 - £200 a week. Presumably this varies according to the club's historical position in the league and demand for the player.
Or, are RPL players paid per game? Mark

It very much depends upon whether they are contracted, how good they are and how much the club can afford..Some clubs pay win bonuses and some could get undisclosed sums!

£100-£200 is what the better Ryman Div 1 players are earning....so i would say an average Ryman Prem player could expect this...top players in this Div would be on Double this if not more.

The key thing to remember is that most of a squad will be in the £100-200 bracket so even if you knew that a sides top goalscorer was picking up £350 and a £50 goal bonus that won't be indicative of every player.
Also worth bearing in mind that players are giving up at least two evenings a week and their Saturdays so 15 hours in travelling, training & games a week puts them in a similar hourly wage bracket as a lower to middle income worker.
Except obviously most players have full time work too.
