Found out today that Marks & Spencers have submitted a planning application to convert the ground floor of the offices next to William Hill into one of their swanky food outlets. Whilst the idea sounds nice, it will mean that the independent butchers/greengrocers etc that make Cheam a bit different to the bog standard high street will probably all disappear, and parking will become an even bigger nightmare than it already is

I wouldn't worry too much - they opened one in Worcester Park a couple of years ago which shut down after a year due to lack of interest......so now we have 8 free parking spaces on their disused forecourt ;D

The Sainsbury's in Cheam Village didn't do that much damage as far as I can see, but I live on the other side of the A217.
