Lost 1-0. They scored in the second minute.

...which was a shame. We did have a fair few chances on goal, but lacking in firepower. Some great chances, including a scissor kick by Tanner in the first half and a glancing header from Quinno early in the second. No Matt Gray (suspended I think), Ross was on the bench, Taiwo came on for Bray and Henry for Honey as Hazel moved to a more attacking formation with about 15 mins to go.
The good news is that Salisbury do actually look like a good team (unlike a lot of the "pretenders" we have seen over the last couple of months), and we more than matched them. Although a 1-0 defeat is an accurate summary of the first, say 20 mins, we did play more like we deserved a draw. They missed an open goal in the second half and we were denied twice by a very good keeper. If they fail to go up, in the play offs, i'll be quite surprised, as from what i've seen of the other teams up there, Salisbury are the best team i've seen, and we matched them, which is very pleasing indeed.

I dunno Andy, I still think Histon were a class act but its difficult to assess as we are a much better team now. For me we deserved a draw today but with your Striker (Warren) spending much of his time on the wing as well as he played I cannot see how he can score goals from there? I am little critical of our final ball not because I am moaning but because I think we have improved such that we should now be expecting that little bit more. If we are to accept that Salisbury are the level to which we aspire then we don't have far to go but part of that is having our main striker in front of goal. I don't see RH as a striker so effectively today we did not have one and we did not score, that aside overall a good performance and Salisbury I am sure will very happy to get out of GGL with all 3 pts.
I do ask the club to act on the kids that are hell bent on causing trouble, its all going to end in tears otherwise. If they cannot behave pls do not let them in......

In the first minute Richard Harris was clear on goal and needed to go forward a few strides before burying the ball in the back of the net.He didn't,he shot lamely at the keeper from outside the box.One minute later in an identical situation at the other end of the pitch their strikers keeps going and scores. If we don't take our chances we don't win matches!

As I missed the Histon match OS, I can't comment! Ask me on the 18th and I will do!
One worrying thing was we seemed to slip back into the John Rains habit of playing the ball wide when we are virtually in the 6 yard box today. That did concern me a bit. But Salisbury were well drilled, and their defence were especially organised. Certainly one of the best defences i've seen this season.
