Sutton proved in the first half that they are capable of achieving results. If we played like that in every game, we would be a hell of a lot higher in the league. In the first half, the lads came out looking more confident than I've seen them this season (and we ought to congratulate ourselves on our support too because that was excellent and helped matters a lot, I would say). They got out there and went about getting the job done. There was some fantastic football.
The fact that we just immediately crumbled as soon as we conceded rather proves a point I made earlier, I think. This team are capable of winning, but are being let down by their lack of confidence and morale.

I agree with you Sallycat, it was interesting watching Arsenal last night and seeing their confidence is sky high they know they will score goals and if they get a penalty the body language says its only going in one place. My point being "they know they will score" when I go to a game I don't know we are going to score I don't even believe we will anymore, I just hope we will! I think simply we are not converting chances and this is just feeding back through the entire side. Apart from Warren watch our forwards infront of goal see the panic on the faces of players like JH and co when 5 or 6 yards out. Contrast with that of many of our previous forwards Joyce/Mckinnon/Effan/Nurse and you will see why we are not scoring. If we add one player to our squad it should be an experience striker who has been around a little for whom the pressure has long since gone.

We've been unable to score regularly now for a while, and it as far as I can remember we've always been scared to shoot. I know I only play 5-a-side now but I was never afraid to have a dig and I'm a left-back!

Perhaps players don't want to be the one who wastes that precious, precious chance for the goal we need so desperately. So they will try and pass it on to someone else, who's probably not in such a good position or gives the opposition time to organise themselves better. Either that, or they shoot not believing they can actually score. If you don't believe you can do it then there is almost zero chance of achieving it- and that would be pure luck if it did happen. If you don't believe you can do it, then there's no point in bothering is there? There's no point in trying your hardest, because if you try your hardest and still can't do it, then what does that make you? What we need is a mental fitness coach

O.k.we are not scoring I think everybody is agreed on that but lets not forget the old saying if you dont concede a goal you cant lose a game of football, and we are conceding for fun,so maybe we need more than just a striker.

I personally think we would have no problems with the players we have if confidence and morale in the side was a lot higher.

Agreed. In defence of the team, I think the last goal, maybe goals, were conceded because they thought they might as well lose by 4 as by 2. They were pushing up and the worst happened. Can the supporters help to raise morale? I really hope so. Good opportunity coming up.

That's what we're here for!
If we could give support like we did on Saturday every game, then we certainly couldn't say we weren't doing our bit.

for the first 67 mins we were by far the better side cambridge did not look like scoring we played well moved the ball around well then 4 mistakes and we lost on the way home i felt we had been robbed for the first few games we let in 1or 2 goals early then the last 2 games we have let in goals late we have to learn to play for 90 mins not 60

Again it comes back to the same point.
How many sides make these sort of mistakes against us? And if they do, how many times do we punish them for it?
Stop the schoolboy errors and we'll be alright.

Why was Asher on the bench on Saturday? Was he still ill?
Having looked at the photo on Cambridge's board, Lewis was incredibly lucky the ref decided his "challenge" in the first half wasn't a foul.
