When the players wave and clap at the end of the game to the supporters is what I take as thanks for our support! This isn't about the players, this is about the manager suggesting that by not getting behind the team it is like playing with a man down. Now looking at where we are in the table that would suggest the fans have to shoulder some blame whihc is absolute rubbish. "Oh it isn't my fault we are bottom and scraping wins against teams 2 divisions below us, it is the fans fault" That is what i took from his statement and that statement follows up the re-signing of Tony Q, who I like but strikes me as a desperate measure on his part. I honestly hope Ian can turn it around, I would rather that than a new manager but I feel he has let himself down with the comments this week, when really he should have been trying to trying to motivate the fans into to getting behind the team more. Oh well see y'all soon. COME ON SUTTON, COME ON SUTTON.

As already mentioned in another thread.......coating off the support is his choice.
But if you're going to do that, don't then go and send out a side that shows about as much fight and spirit as a particularly nervous italian infantryman.
It makes you look a bit of a dick.

Spent some of yesterdays match on the side terrace.
The level of criticism directed towards the players was beyond a joke.
Best line some guy saying 'You not even fit' turned around to see his big beer belly

The difference being though ewellchris is that he indirectly is paying the players wages and whether he has a big beer belly is not relevant

People in Glasshouses though Delboy. If he can dish it out he should be expected to take it.

People in Glasshouses though Delboy. If he can dish it out he should be expected to take it. But that has nothing to do with him thinking a player isn't fit. Think you may have missed the point Mark. That person fat or not puts money in to the club and had the opinion a player wasn't fit, just because he may be unfit himself doesn't mean he can't have that opinion. I can certainly see the irony but it doesn't mean a paying individual shouldn't expect to see 11 fit players out there. Premier league players get criticised by people who couldn't do a 10th of what they can do but the person passing comment isn't being paid to do it, the player is. The only thing I wonder is IF the player is unfit why is the manager picking them? Is it because that unfit player is better than a fit player we have on the bench? Who knows.

OK Nick point taken, I was just amused at his use of that insult. - but if I was the club I'd say thanks for your tenners but you are just haing a negative effect on the team.
If you are constantly criticising hoping your mates laugh at your lines - you may as well go and stand at the away end.

Sorry Nick, but having been coming down here for 38 years & listening to what somebody once described as the cardboard cut outs on the far side for the past twenty, I couldn't give a toss if they have payed money towards the club or not. These are the guys who thought Paul Rogers was crap for christ sakes, so what do they know? There is very little chance of hearing any encouragement from the majority of them & the attitude of a minority of them towards those who volunteer their time to the club is beyond appalling.
So, I repeat, I couldn't give a toss if I'm missing the point or not!

I'm certianly not condoning the moaning, I just saying that you don't need to be fit to have an opinion someone else is unfit. Yet you seem to have taken it that I support them which I don't.

Mark is absolutely right. The amount of crap that has come out of their mouths over the years is amazing and I remember the Paul Rogers moans. They even moan when we're winning (obviosly not very often at the moment!).
Nick, I don't think Mark thinks that you support them.
Now what is the title of this post?
I'll get my coat!!

While we're on the subject of that particular terrace, can anyone who was over there on Saturday shed some light on the verbal shennanigans that went on towards the end of the game? It looked like a 'fan' had given some abuse to one of the Weston players who'd in turn taken umbrage!
What happened?

I understand someone over there chose a bad time to make a bad joke to their number 7 - he had just had a family bereavement and reacted to whatever comment was made
