What is all this bitter pill business? No one has a bitter pill who has moved on from the club, just lots of silverware and very happy memories. Certain persons left because of the inability to work with IH and the rest because of his inability to manage. And, as for ridiculing certain players I am afraid that becomes second nature to some people on this site. If PD could be persuaded to return you would not go far wrong. As a natural winner, respected tactician and a large portfolio of players I am sure we would see as massive improvement. But hey ho, carry on looking through the rose tinted glasses. Also be carefull when naming previous players that have given loyal service, you never know when they come back to bite you!

If Phil applies for the job, fair play to him and good luck to the bloke.
But I think it's you who's looking through rose tinted glasses mate. As for former players coming back to 'bite' us, you seriously think that's never happened before to us, or any other club for that matter?? They wouldn't be the first by a long way and they certainly won't be the last.
Now f*cking grow up.

Spark and Wincklepicker, you seem to be having a go at supporters who realise that Phil Dunne was special. Most, if not all of us understood his involvement and record at the club. Your post implies that Phil left because of other than work commitments. If this is the case, why was that not said at the time. I for one would love to see Phil Dunne back at the club, but is that likely to happen !

Re- Phil , I can't answer that question but I am a fan of his work as are many supporters and players who read this site. Re- having a go at the supporters, no that is not the case and never has been. Rose tinted glasses, I certainely didn't buy the P.R. Re growing up, all ready have done!

i'm a fan of his work also. All the players that left have done so to gain first team experience and as ever we have wished them well and i hope they prove to be a success at a higher level than we are at. I still look out for bailey, nurse, scott, underwood and ide in league football. We are all entitled to our opinion but personally i find some views come across as antagonistic.

I agree with Mr Chalmers. There does seem to be an antagonistic tone with many people who have been associated with the reserves. Idiotic phrases such as 'keep looking through rose tinted specs' shows how out of touch and silly it can be. With our performances over the last 3 years, rose tinted specs is certainly not the order of the day. Perhaps mind panic and massive disappoinment!!!

Apologies is my posts appear antagonistic. This is not the intent. All I wish for is success for the club. Re-ex youth/reserve players plying their trade elsewhere, they are gaining valuable 1st team experience and hopefully will return to GGL one day to don the amber and choc. Towards the end of the JR TR reign there were good things happing and certain applications put in to place to attract the best young talent available to GGL. As success at youth/reserve team level become evident , players were progressing into the first team squad and becoming very successfull in helping to get out of the Rymer and maintaining Conf Sth football. The conveyor belt theory worked.
Some of these players have played many games for the 1st team, some sold on as mentioned in the above post (also Hutchinson brothers etc) and some are playing in Ryman football. All these players have been groomed by Phill and his staff through to Ist team. JR would then blood this prospective players and begin to include them more once we were safe in the division. Never hung out to dry or made scapegoats of. inturn because of these methods and staff implementing them we become known as a club where young talent had a chance to progress and in union attracted the best candidates. From the ground up JR run a soccer school on Sundays for local kids. These kids then progressed into the colts section were they were coached by a minimum of Level 1 coach in a controlled enviroment and a chance to go all the way through to youth/2nd/1st team. It was great P.R. and worked. Also headed by by Trevor Carvell, a youth development team was put in to place with two proven ex-youth team managers scouring the Sunday youth games for prospective players who might have slipped through the net. All this changed when IH took over where ex academy or loan players were preferred to those who come through the ranks (excluding A.J.). Shame, sad and now we have to pick up the pieces. Once again, someone contact Phil Dunne. He loves the club and would give his all not excuses. Kind regards.

i agree. Very good post. As far as i'm aware there are a lot of good lads in the colts coming thru with the ways that have been set up by trevor still working. Things have obviously changed with steve and nigel running the youth and reserves now. It may take time for nigel to bed in, maybe he'll be off again. It'r definitely a time of transition at them levels and hopefully with patience we'll be able to bring thru some excellent players alike those that have worn the shirt once again.
