Apologies for the shameless begging, but if anyone is driving to Maidenhead, has room in their car for one more, and is prepared to tolerate my company for the journey, PLEASE can you let me know? I have to host a family dinner party in the evening and we have guests arriving quite early so if I get the train I might only manage to see the first half! Any kind offers will be VERY much appreciated

Sorry I can't help with your request, Sal. We had a Reserve match last night (Tuesday), but the groundsmen have worked hard to rectify the damage this morning (Wednesday). They've now covered the wettest areas of the pitch to try and protect them, but the forecast of persistent rain for the rest of today and all day Thursday, plus on Saturday means there will almost certainly be the need for a pitch inspection on Saturday morning. Parking in Maidenhead that day will obviously be a nightmare as well. Don't forget that Grove Road car park (directly opposite the York Road entrance) is a maximum stay of 2 hours. The Town Hall Car Park only has 111 spaces and will fill up quickly, so I'd recommend Stafferton Way (£4.50 but unlimited time) which is the right side of town for those travelling from Sutton. www.rbwm.gov.uk/maps/default_rbwm.aspx?MapSource=RBWM/AllMaps&StartEasting=488995.755986&StartNorthing=180711.845012&StartZoom=500&o=1&Layers=CarParks
