Is it reduced admission again? That might help.

Why are things taken too literally? I was asked how many can we expect and I said 100 to 200 , I haven't done a survey, but they don't turn out for the Surrey Senior. Also, survival in league 2 would obviously be their priority.

Academy side plus possibly a few squad players according to one of them that I know. To be honest I'm not that fussed. Looking forward to a rare thursday night game. The weekend starts here. To be fair That mob could well be on the point of having their bubble burst in the league and that would really bugger em up as the conference is a mare to get out of. Not that I hold with anyone dissing the sssc of course. Just to be clear....

Probably about as disgusted as a number of our SSC opponents have been at the quality of the Sutton team fielded in those games over the last few years. I suspect that if we were in a relegation or promotion battle this season, we would see two youth teams out on the park. And quite right too.

When I started watching Sutton, Football League sides were not required to enter the Surrey Senior Cup. Eventually that changed but I do not recall Crystal Palace, who for a long time were the county's only professional club, ever fielding their first team in the competition. Many of us recall the days when the SSC was still an important part of the season, especially the 1980s of course when we won the trophy six years in a row, but I suspect that the tournament is no longer a priority for many clubs. It's a shame but, for better or worse, football is an (expensive) business now and league status is of paramount importance from the Premiership down. Even the FA Cup gets affected and, although I'm ashamed to admit it, even though I used to be able to name the teams and goalscorers for FA Cup Finals going back 50 years without too much hesitation, as I type this I can't even remember the result in last season's final

An idea banded about in recent times is to have the county cup ties as part of pre season. Could get at least 2/3 rounds out the way on Saturdays I would have thought without too much disruption in clubs' pre season schedules. I like the idea. Would certainly enable everyone to put out their strongest sides and then put less pressure on getting good sides out for too many rounds during in season when other priorities might get in the way.

I am not at all upset or disgusted in the team they choose to field, I fully understand their league position. My argument is that it would not have hurt them to put a bit more into promoting the match and helping get more people to the ground?

Nevermind 1980 Stewart, I can still name the eleven that won the final in '64.

No preview or ticketing information as far as I'm aware. I'm not blaming anyone as it has been a very busy time but I don't think we are in a position to complain!

One thing I can see against this, is that in "pre-season", you're still trying to find out "who" is good enough for the forthcoming season, so you could up with "A N OTHER", "I'VE GOT MY BOOTS WITH ME" or "TRIALLIST" in the line up ( not that would happen with Honsec as he's always on top of things , but what about other clubs )

I wouldn't have expected anything else from AFCW or any other league side. This match means more to us than them. This is just a small cup. The league programme is much more important to them. If anyone expects it the be heavily publicised just because they're playing us is in a dreamworld. This is not a first team game for them, and none of the previous games in this competition (or the London Senior Cup) has been given more publicity on their website.
Personally I just don't want to go into extra time.....
