Wasn't it a quarter of a century ago that the day that the Teesiders (Pallister, Mowbray et al) rolled into GGL?

Cor - what a game. Although the Cov game was more of a headline hitter (and we certainly had luck on our side that day), I remember that game (and the replay) with real pride as we matched Middlesbrough in both of those games - the gulf in our positions certainly wasn't evident on the pitch.
How more of our players were not picked up by league teams after that cup run is beyond me! (if I'm right it was only Mark Golley who went to Maidstone, albeit before they became a league club)

Can't disagree, away to Boro was simply the best performance I have ever seen from a Sutton team. After the game I was looking at some photos in a corridor and felt a tap on the shoulder. It was Boro boss Bruce Rioch and he asked if I'd like a tour of the ground ! Phil Dawson and, I think Paul Rogers and one other also got the private tour. By the time we reached the fully equipped gym Phil was almost drooling and pleading to Rioch, "You really want to sign me, don't you ? You know you do really!"

Just to say anyone who doesn't have the DVD of 87/88 it is a must for all U's fans and includes Aldershot, Peterborough and both matches with Middlesbrough.

Paul Rogers went to Sheff Utd and played in the Prem Lgue Andy K. Tok a while but he got there in the end. He was superb at Middlesbrough that night. Best player on the pitch.
Have to agree with Dave F, the best I've ever seen a Sutton team play considering the oppo.

Wasn't it Boro who (years later) had their away dressing room repainted, on the advice of a sports psychologist, in colours designed to make the room's occupants feel nauseous? Not cricket ;D

........I thought it was Sutton United....who painted the away dressing room brown, and took away half the coat hooks, I cant remember who the manager was at time.

I remember the away dressing room wall was signed by all the Leeds United players in 1970 after the 4th Round Match!Dont know when it was painted over but they were there for a few years.

Got to admit i've never done the stadium tour! You could come down during the summer to help out. You will then be able to take a look at the changing rooms
