Midfielder Tom Kavanagh will be moving on after his contract with the club was cancelled by mutual consent at the weekend.

Just shows how difficult the whole bringing young players through is. Vassell, Kavanagh, Romone, that centre half from Tooting who played about 2 games, Steffan Payne. The list is getting longer. Young players need time and if we can't stick with them for a couple of seasons and allow them to develop it is pie in the sky. I'm not saying what we are doing now is wrong, it is all just a very difficult balance and some young players simply won't be up to it. I'm also aware we have signed on more young reserves in the last few weeks. We made a fairly big play pre season and in the beginning of the year about how young the side was. Now we may have a better blend? Still have Boatang, Harry, Harry, Folkes youngish but a diminishing number in the current match day squad.

Yep, best of luck to Kav who has given this club fine service through the youth to the first team. Be interesting where he ends up - Staines perhaps?
