Well, there didn't look like much chance of a game of football breaking out during an abysmal first half on a ropey pitch where nothing really happened until the end when we got a bit of pressure going and hit the bar for the first time. I was grateful for a halftime cuppa and a slipper which was surprisingly tasty when I'd picked the bits of bridle out if it. Second half started a touch better but jeez it seriously could not have got any worse. Things livened up a bit when Rivs and Beauts came on and big Tom Jordan, who I like a lot as hit happens, was desperately unlucky when he hit the bar via the keeper with a superb header. Harry O came on and injected some energy and aggression into the front line and when the game had nil nil stamped on it Dundo crashed through the defence and smacked one in sending us nuts. That really should have been that against a one dimensional urchins outfit but that's just not the way we do it is it? So with the ninety nearly up a long thrown comes in, it seems there man had an age to control the second ball and poke it high into the net past a Wayne Shaw who once again had stepped up to the plate and done a fine job for us. There was still time for rents to curl a free kick onto the bar but this was two important points dropped no question. Would we have taken a draw at he start? Not me guv, hornchurch are a poor side and we should have beaten them as far as I'm concerned. I do hope that the three subs who came on are able to start what will be a tough game on Tuesday as we looked far better after the changes but if course we have to rotate the squad with so many games in the pipe. On we go.

This was a dreadful game. Tom Jordan did have a good game and nearly scored before we took the lead. The other newbies were replaced. We should not start with them on Tuesday! The best moment of the game was the charging run from Dundas through their defence for the opening goal. Sam Rents also had a chance to win it for us late on with a great free kick that came of the bar.

I wasn't there so can't comment on the game but surely Beauts and Rivs would be better in midfield than Folkes and Sinclair?

Awful game on an awful pitch in an awful ground against an awful side. Out of all the teams I've seen this season, I've not seen one poorer than Hornchurch. If Billy can't wait to see Ryman football again, he should go up and watch Hornchurch because it was like watching a game in our first season with Dos in charge. As is usual for Sutton, we conspire never to win at Hornchurch and today was no better. After taking a late lead, we give them a chance to get one back. But we did give them a few other chances earlier on which they couldn't do anything with. From where I was looking, their goal is the type of shot that Scrivs would have saved, but that's harsh on Wayne - he made some cracking and important saves throughout the game. Totally agree that we didn't really start playing until Rivs and Beautyman came on. I've always admired Tom Jordan when we've played against him, and I think he made a great debut today. Also up there for my MoM was Mr Boateng, who in the first half was possibly the only player with any drive. We were pretty poor today, especially in the first half. The other 3 new players were very anonymous, and it took our longest serving player, Mr Dundas, to break the deadlock. At least this time round there was no fight or sending off so possibly our best result there Against most other sides in this division, we'd have lost today, and convincingly. Because Hornchurch were so poor, we scraped a point. We're now 20th. If we'd won we'd have been 15th only below Havant on goals scored. Quick note on the ref. One of the best ones I've seen all season. Reffed a lot of the game with common sense, didn't hesitate on his decisions and tried to let the game flow. As much as a poor game like this could have.

Not surprised it was a terrible game. I went up there in our championship year and they are a rugged outfit on a poor pitch who feed off long ball and set pieces. I would probably need to be paid to go to watch up there unless it was a particularly important game. TBH I would have taken a draw and they have beaten a better side than us at home this year.

Yep first half was probably the worst I have seen for a long while, AFCx sat back we couldn't get behind them at all with them looking for the long ball forward which proved just as fruitless. 2nd half was a much better game with AFCx deciding to come out and go for it making for a much more open game. With 10-15mins gone I said I would be happy with a draw as we were a little under the cosh. Once Beuts and Rivs came on we were stronger particularly down the middle and the goal wasn't a total surprise. Dundo who must be the best case for Cloning to date picked the ball up in midfield and run at the Hx defence like a rugby forward then picked his spot from the edge of the box with just 4mins left on the clock. We were not tight enough on the Hx midfield or forwards all afternoon and that lead to the corner from which a completely unmarked Hx players bangs it into the roof of the net from 6 yards. I don't think Wayne or any keeper would have stopped it, and the goal goes down to bad marking. We never win at Hx so nothing has changed there, the pitch was terrible it didn't suit a ball along the ground type of game, and tbh we are still pretty woeful in the air. We didn't get down the flanks all afternoon and our last headed goal is becoming more and more of a distant memory. Tom Jordan looked solid, but apart from a dodgy opening 10mins Dundo gets my MOTM. Wayne made a couple of class saves today and continues to show he will never let us down. The ref had a good game too and is worthy of mention. I didn't really think Hx were that bad, they defended quite well and looked a threat going forward in that 2nd half? As Dos would say a away point is always a good one, now to win our next 2 home matches
