It's probably time for a brief update.
We have been holding ongoing discussions with LBS over a long-term agreement for pitches in Collingwood Rec. We think we are now close to completion on this, which would be very important as without such an agreement no other plans could go ahead.
We have gone out to tender on the construction of the community pavilion, prices are due back by the end of the month and we are hopeful that costs will be within affordable limits. We are also seeking quotes for replacement open and covered terracing, necessary as part of remodeling the stadium to accommodate the pavilion.
The next step would be prepare a master plan based on our preferred solutions and seek planning consent. If that is forthcoming then the final step would be to seek the grant funding with a view to commencing work in May 2014.
Don't get carried away though, even the fact that we are going out to seek prices is no guarantee or indication that the project will come to fruition. Just keep your fingers crossed !
