Welcome to the Official Clarets page where we will keep you, Sutton United F.C. supporters, updated on facilities here at Melbourne Stadium for your upcoming visit on Saturday 23rd February 2013.
The Stadium: Melbourne Park has a covered terrace at the far end of the ground, at the other end is an open terrace, a seating and standing area at the Athletics side, and the main stand. Melbourne Park is a no smoking stadium, however there is a designated smoking area on the hard-standing outside of the main clubhouse. The clubhouse is open before, during and after the game for refreshments. The clubhouse has a 100 inch big screen, along with two other smaller ones usually showing Sky football. Melbourne Park is a NO SMOKING stadium, however there is a designated smoking area on the hard-standing outside of the main clubhouse. There is a food hut next to the clubhouse and on the far athletics side of the ground, where you can purchase items such as soft drinks, Tea, Coffee, Bovril, Burgers and Hotdogs. There is a programme stool near the clubhouse and turnstiles, and are priced at £2.50 each.
Getting to the ground and parking: There are a small number of parking spaces on matchday located at the centre, and limited parking is available on street, so we would ask where possible for visiting fans to make use of their own coach services. If you do have to drive to the venue, we ask you to show consideration to our neighbours when parking around the stadium.
How to get here:Leave the M25 at junction 28 and join the A12, which is signposted Chelmsford. After nine miles, take the exit for Chelmsford/Harlow. Join the dual carriageway, passing a golf course on the left, until reaching the first of two roundabouts. Go straight over the first, then turn left at the second, signposted Chelmsford Crematorium. Eventually take the A1060 (Rainsford Road). At second set of lights turn right into Chignall Road, and take another right soon afterwards into Melbourne Avenue. Turn left into Salerno Way in front of the big block of flats. Ample free parking is available in the Centre's car park adjacent to the stadium, although early arrival is recommended to secure a place. For bigger matches, overflow parking is arranged on the nearby park.
Public Transport: Chelmsford Railway Station is served by the London Liverpool Street to Ipswich main line. In order to make a 15:00pm Saturday kick-off the latest train you should catch from London Liverpool Street by no later than is 12:45pm to comfortably make kick-off and the same applies from Ipswich
