As I mentioned a few weeks ago, inspired by London 2012 I plan to walk from my home near Horsham to our game at home to Billericay on 6th April. It's about 25 miles in total. A few daft hardy supporters have agreed to join me in this challenge, including former Supporters' Club Chairman Steve Millington. I will leave the others to name themselves on this thread as a couple are still wavering The aim is to raise money for charity, including Sutton Mencap, and I've set up a Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/teams/SUFC6-4-13If you'd like to support us, please do, AND if you'd like to JOIN us on the walk please let me know. davef@suttonunited.net

Dave has talked me into joining him on this walk. He tells me it's all downhill Just in case he is being economical with the truth I have been training on the North Downs for the past few weeks. It would be great if you would consider me when making donations. www.justgiving.com/teams/SUFC6-4-13Many thanks. Stewart

I wish my training was as scenic as the North Downs, although I hope no-one in Elephant & Castle or Borough High Street will take offence and there's a good view of Tower Bridge every morning. I'm not sure whether Dave counted me as one of the waverers or not but if so I've stopped wavering. My page links up to Radio Marsden, which was the club's charity last season and which, as you've probably seen in the local press, is struggling a bit financially at the moment so any contributions would be welcome.

I grew up in the elephant and castle and walking round there 30 odd years ago would have earned you danger money, never mind a donation.
I shall donate shortly. Great effort by all of you

The training is going well, last week we did 10 miles and this Sunday it was just over 9 miles albeit on a more challenging route - lots of mud on our off road track. We starting from Tattenham Corner on Epsom Downs the route took in Langley Vale before joining Pebble Lane (Roman Road) that took us over the M25. We continued south until Mickleham Downs where we started the course home via Headley. I will be out again on Wednesday and next Sunday we hope to start from Banstead Woods.

Good timing, I had planned a long walk this afternoon but all I will manage today is the mile or so battling through the snow this morning with dog in tow (tbf, it was the dog that was doing the towing !)

Unfortunately, I've been rather unwell lately with a particularly bad cold that has stopped me from doing anything but very short walks Should be back on my feet within a few days, but I'm rather annoyed that I missed a weekend - the only days I have the time to do significant walks are Sundays!
