A big thank you to everyone who sponsored us or made a donation in support of our walk today, I will let you all know a final figure in due course but it will be well into 4 figures, I am sure the charities will be delighted.

We all actually had a great time on the walk, the weather relented a little and it wasn't as cold as earlier in the week, the sun came out and I even got a tan! Remarkably, after 8 hours of walking we arrived at GGL just 20 seconds behind schedule.

Do we have any aches and pains ? Well, maybe a few.....

And at the risk of this beginning to sound like an Oscars' speech, thanks to Chris Ball who provided the 'support vehicle' that met us at four places during the walk so we could refuel and carry out any running repairs, and which also saved us having to carry more than was necessary, and a mention also to Steve McKimm who was up at some ungodly hour to take some of us from the club to Dave's house before we started.

A quick update: with some money still to come in and a final count to be undertaken, we have already collected over £2100 for the two charities and the grand total could yet push £3000. Many, many thanks to everyone who supported us and if you'd still like to chip in we would be happy to take money form you on Wednesday.

Don't forget, we have now set up an unofficial ramblers' section with a first walk, ending up at a pub, likely to be early June. E-mail me if you'd be interested. No money to raise, just a leisurely walk and some summer socialising.
