The players started as though all they had to do was run on the pitch and Truro would fold.We had chances to win but didn't take them.We don't have an experienced striker now apart from Dundo and it shows.Plenty of youthful enthusiasm but our goals for, tells the story.
30 league games and 38 goals scored !!

Well spotted another example of lack of accuracy

Agree The only times we have been a threat this season is when Dundo has played up front

When playing the bottom club you need to be on your game from the start. Start fast and give their confidence a going over. Generally, U's have done that of late but not tonight. Truro had three good efforts before we finally sprung into life but with only skip's header against the post to show for any forward play. Second half, it was all u's but once again we couldn't test the 'keeper evidence that we are the third lowest goal scoring side in the division. Caught in possession, U's were in trouble before skip brought their forward down dead centre. Up steps their dead ball expert & he duly delivered. Match lost. The following possibly sums up our season. Take 4 points off the team most likely to win the division but lose at home to the team most likely to finish bottom. Truro was not the worst side we've played this season but tonight probably ended any lingering play-off hopes there may have been. Fortunately there were few people to witness tonight's defeat. There was not even the encouragement from Dos from the dug out and perhaps that was somewhat missed. Still, could be worse, I wasn't stuck on the A23 for 10 hours at Handicross last night. Every cloud, eh? Hi! Do I assume that this was another 'bad day at the office'

.....it would have been nice to have made the play offs, for the extra money it would have yielded, but I am sure it was something we would not have wanted to have won.. Currently the Conference is a step too far.

A little look from 2 angles at the Yellow card for Marv for simulation:

I wasn't there last night (Weren't you? We didn't notice - ED) but it certainly looks like Marv is starting to launch himself before the contact, but more importantly, Os, is the quality of the almost frame-by-frame slow motion - Brilliant!

On the basis of the rather conclusive Marv clip it seems like it was another bad day at the office. Is ther any appeal system?

We've let in 1.27 goals per game
The sides above us Basingstoke - 1.62 Farnborough - 1.53 Havant - 1.41 Bromley - 1.34 Dorchester - 1.53 Eastleigh - 1.63 Weston - 1.36 Borehamwood - 0.97 Chelmsford - 1.32
Only the others in the play offs spots and Eastbourne have a better goals conceded to games ratio. So even taking into account number of games played, I make that at very worst 6th best defence in the league. Billericay have let in an average of 2.2 goals a game this season.
Our problem, and has been all season, but especially in most of the recent games, is our inability to score. If we'd tucked a few more away, we'd have been challenging for a play off spot.

The figures are based on average numbers of goals per game,, so the number of games played is completely irrelevant when comparing cases. Although statistical accuracy increases with higher numbers of data I think you would find a difference of 2 games in 33 or whatever to be statistically insignificant when comparing average scores.
