Lovely football first half and five nicely worked goals. Biggest worry for me the injury to si downer which I hope isn't serious. Second half we changed it about of course and with four games in eight days we were always going to ease back on the gas and fair play to the young dons side for keeping going and pulling a couple back. You can odds the team they put out all you like but you can only beat what's in front of you and this is the same line up that got them to the semis of the mmc/sssc (take yer pick) and it was a decent crowd in and with Thursday being the new Friday the weekend starts here.

Some of us still have work tomorrow Mr T!
Men against boys in the first half, literally, and we scored some well worked goals with tidy finishes. Well chuffed for Kevant on scoring after Leroy tried to give him a present on Tuesday but not for that but for his previous performances when he's played in the senior side.
Second half was all a bit after the Lord Mayor's Show & the AFCW lads probably deserved a goal or two for keeping going, if not for a number of robust challenges that the ref probably showed more sympathy for than he would have done in The Conference!
The downer ws of course losing Si. Not sure he can recover in less than 48 hours for Sat.

Credit to the club for getting to the final. Great that so many youngsters have played a full part. Now let's go and win it. Tough for the players to keep going but it's easier when you're winning. Let's hope we can perform again against Farnborough.

Me too mark. Just feels nice a game before the last day of the old working week, at least if your a supporter and not a player. I may have missed this but when will we know if its God of Plod in the final?

With not a lot at stake in the league now, tonight's team selection - three short of a full strength starting XI - signalled that we're out to win the SSC this season. After those two early goals - both after clearances came straight to one of our players - a Sutton win looked assured. The rest of the half was mostly one-way traffic, with young guns Rhys Murrell-Wiliamson and Kevant Serbonij rampant down the flanks and fully justifying their inclusion, while Dundo surely cemented his place as our top scorer this season.
As the second half wore on we began to look a bit ragged, and it was a touch disappointing to concede the two goals, but the youthful AFC side can at least say they won that half.
I passed Simon Downer in the car park as I left and he told me he should be OK for Saturday. (I think he was just taken off as a precaution.)

Some lovely goals in the 1st half and a totally one sided match up until the interval. I thought we might go on and get double figures as it really was men against boys. Second half with the game won and Saturday in mind we dropped off and that coincided with AFC trying to salvage a bit of pride. We were never really in any difficulty tonight, I am told their penalty was very soft but I couldn't see from 90 yards away. Lots of pluses for us, Kevant, Rhys, and of couse Benji as I am calling him. Ali is simply class in that midfield and not that if was difficult tonight but he really allows Dundo to get forward. Decent crowd, I am still a bit miffed that AFC didn't bill the match as their next 1st team fixture, it does the cup a disservice

A good demonstration of why AFCD shouldn't enter this competition and why Palace no longer do (and also why AFCD don't bill this as a 1st XI fixture). If they haven't got a proper reserve team and don't want to play their 1st team, why bother to enter? A complete mismatch and not worth even the reduced £8 entrance fee.

They can easily justify it by saying they were good enough to get to the semi final. All good experience for their youngsters of senior football and how little time they get on the ball in comparison to the kids stuff. How a club at that level can operate without reserves on the other hand is another matter!

It was embarassing. We had so much time and space on the ball we could have had ten.
