Can't disagree with the above. Well done to both sets of players for providing an interesting encounter on a difficult and deteriorating surface. Also thought the ref had a good game (bar his inconsistency with the cards). I thought Farnborough was far better today than at GGL but such is football, they lost this one.
Considering U's had played two games midweek & Farnborough exactly zero, this was a fine win, irrespective of the home side's goalkeeping issues. That said, the second goal was crucial and the unfortunate Cardini was at fault when he spilled Sam Rent's shot into the net. He was also well out of position when Marv out paced their defence for the opener. U's third was down to the wonderful persistence of Dundo, who never recognises a lost cause for a simple tap in for Marv.
I thought the back four were excellent today and in particular, skip. Jamie Stuart was outstanding and my SUFC MoM. Well done to Kevant for again showing he has the ability and attitude to play at BSS level, he's never let the side down when called upon. Another great team effort.
Let's keep it going for a grand stand finish to the season and a highest final position as possible. For now though, time to rest those legs (until training, of course!).

Tough game but the boys did well! Made up a bit of ground on the playoff hopefuls and will do so again this week.

I echo the above, enormous credit to both sides for providing what was a entertaining match on a somewhat unpredictable surface. Even more credit to our boys for winning their 4th match in 8 days. I thought we were stronger physically then them, and actually look like we are going to score these days. Boro toiled made a match of it and our back 4 had to be on their guard and Tommy stepped up to plate when called upon too. The Gaffa I am sure will be disappointed in conceding a soft set piece leveler, and maybe we had a bit of fortune owed to us when Rents shot slithered its way past the Boro stand in keeper. Marv and Dundo are causing defences all sorts of problems, its good to see Rivs back, but for me Ali Fuseini is making a real difference in the center.
We have taken 40pts from our last 21 games, if we carry on in similar style next season then we could be looking at another stint in the Conf Nat?
I don't understand why a couple of the Boro boys didn't pick cautions in that 1st half?

Agree with all the above. An absolutely fantastic effort. Given the moans and groans you hear about tired players at the top level, with all their support staff and equipment, how great to see guys with other jobs put such a stint in over these last few games. Stuart has had his critics during the season I think it is fair to say but was excellent today, full commitment and timely interceptions. Downer as per usual wonderful alongside and the whole defence was good. Like to have a proper right back in there and he looks a nice fit. Well done to players and staff again. I still think we've too much to do for the play offs but would be good to go again Wednesday and keep the interest going.

Yup, great effort from the lads today. Had a regular keeper been between the sticks for Farnborough I think he'd have stopped our first two goals. But we can point towards our own handicap, this being our third game in five days while Farnborough hadn't played since last weekend. I actually thought we looked the fitter side in the second half, with Dundo putting in an immense shift - it was his battling run and cross that set up our third goal. Marvin, who was rested on Thursday, was very lively. There were some weak links in our side - Folkes had a poor game and Fuseini was below his best - but, as mentioned above, our defence held pretty firm after a couple of early scares.
That's our fifth straight win (four in the league) and takes us up to 8th. But, sorry, I think talk of making the play-offs is fanciful. Even if we do well in our remaining four matches we'd need to overhaul three other clubs to snatch fifth place. We might just sneak ahead of Boreham Wood (one point above us) and Weston (who've only two games left) but Eastleigh and Chelmsford, four and five points ahead of us, and also with four to play, both have comfortable run-ins.

Tought pitch, bad weather and some very tired looking players, but it was enough to beat a poor Farnourough team who really missed a rated keeper. The lads have dug deep and done really well this week. Can't give them enough praise for the effort they have put into this week. Not long to go now & I think 6th or 7th is a real possibility. Play-offs? No, too much to do in too little time, but 6th or 7th is respectable. Well done everyone on a difficult and testing week.

Looks like i'm the only one who believes we can make the play offs! Yes it is possible Delboy. However how much would you bet on us doing it?

I think things will become clearer by the time of the next match on Wednesday. If Chelmsford, Eastleigh and Boreham Wood win their games in the next couple of days then i think that is just about it. If they don't then maybe there is a chance.

However optimistic we like to be (and we can be sometimes), a play off place has really been out of our hands for quite a while now, so we may win all our games and still not get there! Tonbridge could do themselves (and us) a huge favour by winning at Chelmsford tonight and although that's unlikely, as has been shown this season, nothing is certain in this division!!
Of course depending on results midweek, if we beat Hornchurch on Saturday, we could relegate them....
