A rare Wednesday fixture this evening for Sutton. Ten days ago H&Y were plummeting towards the relegation zone as they'd lost four on the bounce, culminating in a 7-1 thumping at fellow strugglers Staines. But they've won both their games since then and are now virtually safe.
A win for Sutton would take us above Boreham Wood to 7th. A draw would keep us 8th. Harry B has completed his suspension and I guess will start.

The two wins have come since their manager stepped aside.

I hope it's not like the fixture in March which was a dire affair. The fact that the pitch at GGL is miles better than at Kingfield will hopefully prevent that!
By the way AA, TOP PICTURE!

And Simon Downer has just scored to make it 4-1, ruining my prediction streak. Who thinks we can make the playoffs now? I do!

According to Twitter and friends at the game, we won 5-1, Dundo getting our 5th from the penalty spot.
It's unlikely, but it is possible. Dare to dream.

Brilliant result, if only we had beaten Truro at home and also put away a few of those multitude of early season home fixture chances we had..alas I still think the play-offs are now a step too far. Keep waiting for the teams legs to go with the backlog of games..Still, it's a great way to end the season. Great form and can't wait for13/14 now..

With a strong and blustery wind generally on U's backs in the first half H&Y struggled to clear their lines but after U's had failed to take a couple of good opportunities, the visitors took the lead with possibly their only real effort on goal.
Marv scored a lovely brace and Dundo powered home a fine Harry B delivery to give U's an interval lead. The next goal was going to be reasonably crucial when taking the conditions into account and it came from a thumping Simon Downer header.
After that H&Y offered little but the fifth was sometime coming and from the pen spot after Chris Benjamin had been brought down in the box. Dundo thumped into the corner with the 'keeper getting a hand to it but not troubling the course of the ball into the corner.
Another great team performance tonight. Marv was electric at times, Dundo was bulldozing, Jamie and Harry energetic and Ali Fuseini, economic and purposeful. The back 4 did very well, limiting the away attack to very little, while the three youngsters came off the bench to contribute.
As for what may or may not happen come the end of the 42nd match of the season, all U's can do is keep winning and if it is to be it wil be, if not, so it be that too. I'm just enjoying a marvellous finish to the season.

What an enjoyable game. The team as a whole are playing nice simple football and the results have followed. Tonight was no different. I think that Marvin Williams work rate tonight was amazing he just runs and runs for the ball and he just never gives up. Mr Dundas is a one man giant in the team I think tonight showed that his belief in himself has grown to new heights this season and the goals are coming as part of this. Looking also out other players, Ali Fuseini has fitted in to the midfield and it's just the simple passing and bringing players into the game and also how he finds space to be available when players need that simple out ball. Downer and Stuart look comfortable at the back with Rents and Wheeler looking solid. Ok tonight Tom Lovelock did not have much to do but over the last couple of weeks he has played like a Keeper who has been playing the game for 20 years calling for the ball, wanting to win the punch or collecting under pressure. The midfield has also played a big part in this I have already mentioned Ali and how he is fitting into the team but also James Folkes has got stronger the more he has played and Riviere has been missed this season when injuryed but is starting to fit in. I think that Dean Sinclair is looking like a person that like again to play a simple ball to the forwards but also he does look like he can shoot so maybe next season a few more goals form him. Tonight we saw Harry Beautyman come back into the team thought he had a quiet night but what he has done for us this season I do not think words can always praise him! We must not forget the bench with Benjamin, Serbonij and Murrell-Williamson being used tonight and they all seem to fit in to the team when they come on. Tonight showed that the team are playing the best they have done all season and yes that is down to them on the pitch but also the management must get a big thumbs up for making the team work for each other, encourage them even when things do not work out and that they are not just playing football but they are playing for Sutton United FC and that no individual can make a team.

That's four goals in two games for Marvin! Both tonight's were scored through quick counter-attacks, with the second a particularly good finish - but the first was perhaps the more important as it brought us level within a few minutes of H&Y taking the lead after their own lightning break down our right flank. Once Dundo had headed us 3-1 up before half-time there was little doubt that we'd go on to win. H&Y at least showed more attacking ambition than they did at Kingfield last month, but the ease with which we sliced through their defence made it easy to see why they've shipped so many goals lately. So that's five straight wins in the league, we're up to 7th in the table and joint top of the form table. Whatever happens in the next three matches, we're now guaranteed a top half finish. What would be really great would be continuing this run into next season.

Tonight was bitter sweet, knowing how good we are now and that a playoff place is probably just out of reach. I have to say Hayes were poor and although we have got better with each game, they are probably the worst side I have seen over 2 matches? The only thing wrong tonight was they got a goal their play didn't merit such was the gulf in class. I could say how good Marv's, Dundo, Harry etc were tonight but in truth every single one of our players were better then theirs in every department. We had power and pace down the flanks, Ali (I just think he is great) controlled the midfield and the back 4 were rarely troubled by anything Hayes a midtable side could muster. I think this is the best side we have had since 03/04 and the difference this time is that they are going to stay together. When you think we are now the form side and are playing 2 to 3 times a week its quite amazing really. In 03/04 we started poorly then we found Toby Jinadu to play infront of the back 4 and we never looked back, and I think Ali has come in and done that for us and has cemented the spine of the side. Season 13/14 could be a big one for the ambers

Good performance from the lads and they took their chances when they came. What a header from Downs!!! Never let up in the first half even when they got a lucky break and were always going to score. there's a freshness about the side that's great to watch and can only have come from our fitness training and Dos's motivation of the players. Keep it up and we'll push the playoffs, but more importantly we will gain momentum for next season! Congrats to Marvin and Dundo for their braces. Keep it up lads, everyone's behind you.

Well! At last we somehow out of nowhere his a scoring run! A quarter of our league goals this season have come from the last 5 games, and for the first time this season we've got a healthy gd.
Pretty much echo what's been said above, but in addition that the 4 outfield goals we score today were really top drawer - Marv's 2nd was superbly accurate and Si Downers header was immense!
Dos and Telfs described us as the "fittest team in the league" and tonight in the last 15 it was evident. We kept the tempo up right till the end whilst Hayes looked exhausted.
MoM for me - tonight, has to be skip. Bossed that defence and apart from the goal and one other effort, Hayes didn't really get a look in.
We're on a real roll and really are playing well together. I know a lot has been said about Eastleigh, but the pressure is also just as much on Chelmsford - only 1 point above and arguably have a harder run in. They've been known to self destruct and their recent poor form has only recently been halted by wins against a couple of weaker sides in the division.
Now only Dorchester, Boreham Wood, us and Weston can gatecrash the party. With their poor gd and points disadvantage, it will be almost impossible, and Weston of course have played 1 game extra. If Chelmsford and Eastleigh (or either) slip up then it's looking more and more likely that us or BW could sneak in. All we have to do is go out with a flourish. Even if we fail to get there, we've certainly saved the best till last and given ourselves something to be proud of.
If we do win our last 3 games, we'll end the season on 70 points - only 4 shy of last years total. Reminds me of our 2nd season in the Ryman with Dos - our slow start to the season cost us the title in the end. If we can follow up like we did that time, 2013/14 could well be a fantastic season!

We have a pace and incisiveness about us right now and look like scoring goals (and importantly scoring them!). A big turn around from the home form earlier in the year. Obviously another key ingredient that has been added to the mix is confidence. Good to see, let's enjoy and hope we can keep our (still faint) play off hopes alive a little longer starting with Hornchurch on Saturday. They will scrap so we will have to win a battle. They will probably also bring a few and return some sort of atmosphere to the ground that seems to have gone completely missing at a time you'd expect it to come to the fore (side playing well and momentum building).
