It was great to see some of the 1963 cup final side back at Sutton last night for our 50 years reunion party, although few still live locally and not not everybody was able to make the journey. They were all in great form and Dave Roffey even looks as if he could still be playing. The conversation flowed all evening as the memories came flooding back and for those of us who weren't following the U's back in 63 it was a great night to learn more about the club at the start of its first "Golden Era".
We are a very lucky club to have been privileged to watch so many top quality players over so many years who are also such nice guys off the pitch.

Ye, I really enjoyed it. TBH, I was in my element and it was good to re-live the matches (and goals) with Roy Osborne and Eddie Clack. All in their 70's now but look great. Eddie, in particular, was of great interest. As well as a fine footballer, he also was a talented swimmer and athlete.
Talking to these guys, gives me the only reason why I wish was 10 years older so that I could have witnessed it myself.

I don't know if any photos were taken, but what we do have is 13mins and 48secs of video highlights from the 2nd half plus full bbc radio commentary. We will try and marry the 2 up and put on the end of season DVD as a little treat. As it has never previously been digitised you won't find it anyehere else
