If there were no legal matters stopping us, would you like to allow drums inside the ground

In a big crowd it can be OK but when it's 40 people on rain sodden Tuesday playing Egham in the SSC it just looks a bit crap.

Something like noise restrictions because of the local neighbourhood, I'm not sure if anything like this is in place

I don't wish to be extreme, but only over my cold dead body. It's a slippery slope, next thing you know we'll have a daft name like 'the choir' or 'the 12th man'. Then Jester hats, and then the final indignity: half and half scarves.....

I'm not particularly suggesting we do allow drums, I just want to see what people think!

I don't think drums add to the atmosphere to be honest, that is and should be made by the crowd not musical instruments. I did find the sticking cucumbers down their pants a novel way of providing support for your team? I am not sure if the club has or will be introducing rules to ban vegetables from the ground, but I am sure their would not be a wish to unduly reduce crowd numbers

Tbh I think drums would be good. Our fans don't make much noise from the start (sorry guys but it's true) and having the drums along with songs etc would really make it feel like we're watching an important game rather than about 30 fans standing behind the goal silently making the match feel dull and pointless. The loud atmosphere would spur the players on surely, e.g yesterday if the fans were singing and playing drums it might work well to make the players play better.
Honestly I was embarrassed that G's fans were making more noise than us even vocally, our fans would sing sutton, sutton! about once every twenty minutes and that was it. Pathetic effort from players and supporters alike and the introduction of drums would help in my opinion. I'm sure many disagree with me though

A few mates and I were trying our best to up the atmosphere (even using an airhorn and chanting for 10 minutes straight!) but on our own it was a lost cause. Drums or just increased chanting at home would of course help this (I'm more for the second option). Our support away from home is the best in the league but (no offence) at home the atmosphere is poor.

But you're right I'd rather we just sang louder but if that can't happen I'd welcome some drums

Same old problem. GGL needs a proper crowd to generate an atmosphere. At the moment we're just not getting the people in. Even 700 seems a large crowd these days, used to be standard. If the proposed ground changes happen then things might change. Right now it's like banging heads against a brick wall, i.e. a losing cause.

No way. How does the beating of a drum indicate support for a particular team anyway?

Definitely not, agree it should be pure crowd noise
