Yet again the Board surprise us all.
But we have a manager with a lot of experience and a lot of contact, and a good understanding of this level of football.
Welcome Ernie, hope you enjoy your time with us, and more importantly I hope you get us out of the cack!!!

Cetainly did. What did Howe ever achieve at Basingstoke? Don't know but I know he hasn't managed us to 3 consecutive defeats conceeding 6 and scoring 1 along the way. Sorry I know Massey had a hard job but 3 straight defeats aren't enough to be made manager. Massey had his chance now lets give Ernie a chance.

I'm with Greek on this one. Knowing of Ernie Howe, I think this is a good appointment in the circumstances (no money, in the cack etc).
Its been blatantly obvious for a while to all who read this that even if Massey got results he probably wouldn't have got the job because of lack of experience and lack of contacts. Those are 2 criteria the new manager had to have as a priority

Don't know huge amounts about him but know enough to say it seems a decent appointment. Welcome and good luck!

He played for Fulham. Hope he knows a striker. Good luck for the future E.H.

FFS, the bloke has shedloads more experience than Massey as a manager at this level. About 13 years more.
Massey didn't do enough to claim the job in the 4 games he had IMO. Seems the board agree.
