Last Sunday's NLP (16/6/13) said that Thurrock's appeal would be heard in the next two weeks. Thanks Johnboy

The main thrust of the appeal is that the reg form for the Sunday club is a forgery and Thurrock have produced that form and the one he signed for Thurrock to compare.

A non league reporter (@rishi_Sikka) has tweeted this "The FA fail to respond to Thurrock FC's point deduction appeal in the allotted 14 day period. The case should now be thrown out."
And a tweet from Tony Flood, Thurrocks press guy - "No reply from FA to @thurrockfc appeal within the 14 allotted days. I think the case is now over. We are staying up!! @gazettematt"

I wouldn't jump around just yet. Ain't over til the bloke in the blazer sings. Failed to respond within their own rule book deadlines? Says it all. Might as well put the raider in charge.

Now seems according to Tony Flood, that the FA have informed Thurrock that they have 21 days to respond. Thurrock had 14.

The FA have set the appeal hearing for next Tuesday, 9th July ay 11am.
The FA have drawn the FA Cup and Trophy on the presumption that Thurrock are relegated and Carshalton have been reprieved

Thurrock have lost their appeal and are now considering an appeal to the Court of Arbitration. I think we can presume that now they are relegated and the Bobbins are reprieved

It is a sad feature of non-league football that so many footballing matters (such as promotion and relgation) are decided off the pitch and after the season has ended.
I think that there was a certain inevitability about the FA decision - although I have great sympathy for the Thurrock fans.
Regardless of whether the points deduction was or wasn't justified, the FA should have acted much sooner - and well before the season ended - so Thurrock at least had the opportunity to right any possible wrong on the pitch before the season ended. I seem to recall that the season before last, Farnborough had a points deduction a few games before the season ended that put them in serious danger of being relegated - but they beat Havant to preserve their Blue Square South status. Would have been good if the FA had acted promptly enough to give Thurrock a similar opportunity.
Probably won't go down well on this site but good luck to Carshalton supporters as well. They have been put through a lot lately and I wouldn't deny them a bit of good fortune - particularly after their team's brave fight back at the end of last season.

www.thurrockgazette.co.uk/news/10535833.Thurrock_FC_lose_relegation_appeal/A Thurrock official has said to the press they are taking this to the European Court of Arbitration (as seen on Twitter). That could actually have an impact on the start of the Ryman League. So thanks to the league expanding, and Thurrocks' ruling, Carshalton stay up. If either of those wasn't the case, they'd have been down. Seems to me this story isn't over yet!

Tommy south still talking of folding the club if unsuccessful in CoA. Would guess a Phoenix club would poss start up but would have no chance of getting into a league thus season. Strange to think they've only been going since something like 1985!!
